The threat is very real. Time to be on the look out. The operatives will be very covert and unconventional, they derive inspiration from clerics like Rogo. and it is getting serious, covert operations being advocated as the new unexpected. Its time the state declared open war on these agents of terror- chini kwa chini........
The sermon of this Sheikh is very disturbing:

@rahatupu "Oops, looks like we can't find that page!". Just for your information, do not believe in voice recordings you find in the internet. Sometimes they impersonate someone.

This recording was released in Jan 2012 from the SITE Intelligence Group!
They say it belongs to one Ahmad Iman Ali, the leader of Shabaab's branch in Kenya!

All I can say is that in every society, there are black sheep. I saw one guy who has launched a page in facebook called "Campus Divas for rich men". See the guy responsible here.

So in the house of Islam too, there are extremists, some of whose teachings Muslims condemn. This guy seems to be a making of al Shabaab (if there is anything like that, you know uncle Sam is capable of creating imagined enemies, please look out for 911 documentaries).

I want to ask all of us to exercise tolerance. We are all brothers in the eyes of God. Both the major religions say: there is no compulsion in religion.

See my comments before about true position of Islam.

This is sad. Muslims do not support these attacks.

Let us all condem killing of innocent. Let us also maintain that the war on terror is not a war on Islam or on Muslims.

However, there are still those who are involved in the war on terror but have not overcome their suspicion and mistrust of Muslims.
They need to change their perception and turn Muslims into Partners in the war on terror.

@guka there is a great misconception as far as Jihad in Islam is concerned.
This misconception is not only among the non-Muslims, even among the Muslims.

They think that any war faught by any Muslim, for any reason, whether for person gain, whether be fame, whether be for money.
Jihad does not mean any war faught by Muslim.
Jihad comes from the Arabic word Jahada, which means to strive, to struggle.
In Islamic context it means to strive against ones own evil inclinations.
It also means to strive to make the society better.
It also means to strive in the battle field for self defense.
It also means to fight against tirant opression.

Jihad basically means to strive, it means to struggle.

Jihad is not terrorism:
It is to be emphasized that terrorism against the innocent civilians, whether through aggression or suicidal means, is under no circumstances permissible in Islam.

Islam encourages the oppressed people to struggle for their liberation and it commands other Muslims to help those who are oppressed and suffering.

But Islam does not allow, under any circumstance, terrorism against non-combatants and innocent people.

Terrorism is not Jihad
Terrorism is Fasad (mischief).
It is against the teachings of Islam.
There are some people who use their twisted arguments to justify terrorism for their causes, but it has no justification.
God says: Quran chapter 2:11-12: When it is said to them: 'Make not mischief on the earth,' they say: 'Why, we only want to correct things.' Indeed they are the mischief doers, but they realize (it) not.

I agree with you completely, Islam or religion in general is not the problem rather extremism.

I say we have to supprort our Kenyans. We cannot leave them to be oppressed by those in power.

You can challenge the above, and try to defend the actions, but you cannot take away the fact that there is more than meet the eye.

That is why when our own is taken from us by bloodthirsty fellows using bombs and such we feel very offended.

And by the way, who is your own? Is it your fellow countryman? Or is it some foreigner from a neighbouring country?

I engaged you once about "terrorism" but you never said a word. Terrorism bill

You engaged me wapi, jameni? Where? I would like to know.

As far as I can tell this is our first discourse.

Even if, to cautiously play along with your strange charade, I never said a word, so now you sidestep the point I have raised?

@Murchr, thanks for the correction. This boy

RINK

Is believed to be either in Ke or Tz but definitely not Somalia. He is thought to rank highly in the leadership of the Kenya cell. If you see how they refer to him on Twitter, then you will understand.

@AlphDoti, now you see the point we are making many thanks. There is a serious cell that is bent on wrecking havoc in this country in the name of Islam. Most people cannot see through this, including Abdillahi (who I respect very much). The security agents need to separate common criminality from uncommon criminality (terrorism) if we are to make headways against them.

Fact:- Rogo was a confirmed alshaabab member/sympathiser/recruiter. Fact:- His killer(s) are unknown - it could be our police, CIA, MOSSAD, Al shaabab or other group(s) with vested interest. Personally I think Kenya is better off without him and hope he is happy enjoying his reward of dying a 'martyr' - 70+ virgins!

There is nothing like that, so do not let others get misled.
Nothing in the Quran specifically says that martyrs are given 70+ virgins. But there are hadiths, which talk about rewards. So be careful about spreading stories created by people.
