In the over 40 years since the moon landing by Neil Armstrong, not a single engineer or employee of the tens of thousands employed during the period by NASA nor the hundreds of scientists who examined the moon rocks brought back have ever come out to discredit the moon landings. Not a single one. In addition, the Russians, deep in the middle of the cold war and hating the Americans with a passion akin to Iran nowadays, kept quiet when they would have known (telescopic evidence) it was a faked landing seems curious. That such a large group could keep silent to such a momentous secret for decade’s boggles the mind.

Due to the above, I find it next to impossible to believe the conspiracy theories debunking the moon landings. It simply doesn’t make sense.

RIP Armstrong.

its not for tourism - remember when that initially happened it was solely for the space race between russia and the US (which was won by the latter) there is no practicality/usefulness in going to the moon now.

This old man should have manned up and admitted this whole moon landing was a hoax. There is solid evidence this never happened and NASA could not even explain why there were multiple shades in the landing videos/pictures (read different light sources) Just Google these things and you will get the answers. Personally I don't believe it happened.

Scientifically, it doesn't make sense to send people to the moon. The Armstrong et al landings were driven more by political considerations (cold war) than scientific thirst. You get more scientific information from an unmanned landing than from a manned one.

That's why few US governments today will agree to spend money on a manned landing - they proved they can do it and they don't need to prove it again.

And to those who say the landings were faked because there were no "modern computers" in 1969; please watch the movie "Apollo 13". Not only were there no computers, there were no calculators either. The guys at mission control were using slide rules!

Gives a new meaning to the comment by John Wheeler: "You never do a calculation unless you know the answer"!

Interesting. And the interpretation of the videos and lack of stars were made by the same NASA scientists, I presume? And the lack of stars can be explained by which scientific method?
