USG???

Quote:

Security experts in Africa, security forummers, and even top intelligence experts have criticized the London Somalia conference in February. The conference was a cloaked attempt to take away credit from Kenya whose record of accomplishment in conflict resolution, peacekeeping, military capacity has been admirable for many years. None of the global leaders including Hillary Clinton, Ban Ki Moon, nor PM Cameron gave Kenya a thumbs up.

The relevance of these "powers" is fading by the day, and the rise and rise of Kenya as a military giant is slowly but surely coming to pass.

PROUD to be a KENYAN!!!

It is time for the US Garment to get involved. See, it does not have to cost the US taxpayers money always.

The actions of Ethiopia are very worrying. Losing ground to terrorist for no apparent reason is an act of treason unless proved otherwise.........................................................What is causing this shift in the Ethiopian policy on Somalia, particularly with the Kismayo war trophy? .............. Ethiopia has not come out to clear the mist on their withdrawal. Was it a tactical withdrawal?
Sabotage manifests for a number of reasons including Kenya’s KDF surrounding of areas around the Port of Kismayo which is widely viewed as a war trophy. Another factor is the lack of strategic value in the current AMISOM effort with Ethiopia finding itself doing less to foster the desired results. Kenya army is currently engaging the militants near the port town and are planning to take it. This remains the single most important factor that could trigger acts of sabotage.
Ethiopians are not cowards, though their strategy often does not prove effective on the long-term. This has once again manifested by their withdrawal from Elbur and nearby areas. This only amounts to providing new breeding ground for the Al-Shabaab which is an act of sabotage.

I was listening to the terror warning the other day. Some statement were just too suspicious or odd even in their construction. They did not add up. It left me wondering who is funding the terror attacks? How come all the Al Shabab suspects sort recently are of European origin?

@Funda...... This can be explained by the fact that even the Al Shaabab consists of hundreds of foreign fighters. These are the people with financial and material means to keep the war going. They also tend to be the most indoctrinated in fundamentalist radicalism more than Somalis.

However, it is imperative that your angle be looked at critically, now that Uncle Sam has placed price tags over A/S leadership. Mercenaries (read US/UK infiltrator commandos) could try subotage KDF operations. These guys may do anything to take the credit for liberating Somalia (moreso Kismayo).

This is all good analysis but if you knew the other side of the coin you would not worry about Kenya’s position. They need us more than we need them, just as have once again proved by kicking Al Shabab way back inland.

@Njunge, I hate it when this guy rao opens his mouth..... but if I interpret the article well he means financial assistance (sic) which is inconsequential at this time of day. Or it could be some bureaucrats in Nairobi have smelled money on this occasion.
