I honestly don't think you'll get a response on that, just sit back and wait for what will be said about MK, UK, WR and the rest!

This is the problem with you, @alma. Your mind draws a blank when asked a simple question, then you decide to be an escapist.

@alma, his legacy doesn't have to be as a president. He's been an MP, Minister and now PM. What's his legacy?

he started the process of improving and expanding infrastructure....when he started by bringing down houses, many murmured that, "he is bringing down other people's efforts"...this was from a certain corner of the country... and his ODM counter part (Hon. Franklin Bett) has continued the trend...

With the forceful way in which Baks is appointing commissioners and the Kilokumi's of this world...it begs the question of his commitment to getting a new constitution....It is like they realized after passing the new constitution, they had goofed, and now the many amendments...he is sitting back watching parties violate the political parties act!!! if you bothered to check which party you were registered in, you may find yourself in the UDF/POA/PICK group...how did this happen? at least RAO and ODM are talking about it..now you can only imagine if RAO was the president smile

As the first and last Prime Minister of Kenya it's prudent to vet his Legacy. And as the SUPERVISOR of Government functions for the last five years.

1. He initiated the poor School Girls program
2. He led the Mau forest rehabilitation program
3. He ...

I think it’s simple as someone said it’s a coalition govt that’s why I said nusu mkate each one has his bit to do that is why whenever there is an announcement and Raila was not consulted, he says I was not consulted and he ends up disowning the list . If people do not want to talk about Raila’s legacy then I do not know why they talk about Kibaki’s . I just proposed Raila’s as a PM if we talk about the rest of the candidates its will be as ministers and DPM s. If Kibaki was a failure in his last term, then he shares his failures with Raila, after all they share the cabinet posts and appointments (which they agree on) so what’s Raila’s legacy. Nothing personal with this man

A radical who survived old Jomo's wrath.

He kicked out M Oh One and brought down his project.

He said Kibaki Tosha and it came to be. One major result of this is that we got to see what a Minister can really do in the hands of a Hon. Michuki or Karisa Maitha.

He holds his people in a firm grip. One wave of his hand and the railway goes.

Two of the leading candidates in the next general erection are basing their respective campaigns on keeping him out of state house.

On several occasions, he has made Mtukufu Rais eat humble pie. All he had to say was that "I was not consulted" and a Chief Justice looses his robes.

I am not a registered voter and I do not intend to be one. However, if I was, I would vote for him just to spite the level of antipathy against him portrayed by Citizens who I otherwise really respect going by the kind of posts and threads here.

Who knows, he might just turn out to be the benevolent dictator who converts Kenia into a South Korea.

Nothing further.

I believe @kiash is asking us what RAO has done since 2008 when he became PM. Let me push it back a bit to 2003 when 'they' started governing Kenya. His legacy:

1.Demolitions to pave way for construction of by-passes.
2.Shooting down Kilifi draft in 2005.
3.Leading a political machinery aimed at ethnic hatred.
4.Corruption
5.Nepotism
6.Leading Mau forest campaign and evicting illegal settlers.
7.At the thick of 2007 violence, being the man who could stop it if he wanted to, keeping quiet and enjoying it until the violence touched his community.
8.Visible leadership-always talking about issues, first to get to site of terror attacks etc, good with crowds! This is what most Kenyans want BTW.
9.Political entertainer. Kitendawili....Farasi ni wangapii..Hao wengine ni ninii...
10.Populist-Wants public approval and will sometimes flip flop just to please them.

@Lolest.This is a good summary.Add to that

11.failed coup in 82
12.Reckless in his utterances and lack of emotional IQ to be a national leader
