The 20GB porn you deleted is still in the recycle bin. Now delete it from the recycle bin.

The reason most people suffer with computers is because they install so much unwanted software, i always get people asking me to install for them all softwares that ive got (tafadhali weka software zote uko nazo).
ONLY install software in your computer that you will require in your day to day operation. Some software e.g graphics softwares are very heavy and use up alot of resources making computers slow.
Lastly, engage a professional ICT person to do for you the technical stuff and avoid shortcuts by paying for professional help.

stop wasting time with short cut solutions. If the problem is recurring it means you have no disk space worth talking about. Ccleaner only removes temp files, removing a program only frees up no more than 5g and next month the same problem starts again.

So as someone has said, remove all the porn on your laptop. Or extra documents you don't need.

If not, go add another hard-drive, external harddrive if you have to and continue watching your porn in peace.

The hard disk is partitioned into drives C (20gb) and D, E and H which are each 40gb. I moved all the documents in C to the other drives, and also the programs that I could, and deleted some that I couldn't. Currently drives D,E and H have over 30gb of free space each (making a total of over 100gb), but drive C has only 100mb. My problem is to increase the space in drive C, which appears to be getting smaller with each day......And yes, i deleted the 20gb of porn that was in drive E.

Get Partition Magic version 8 and over ...it will resize the disk drives (doesn't work on Vista and Windows 7 ...unless they have recently fixed it). Make sure to back up your stuff cause nasty things that can force you to format the drive can happen

i wouldnt use partition magic on my C, chances of crashing are quite high. 20GB is quite small for c BUT I believe you havent moved all the documents from C, these include desktop, my documents, my music, and any ther accounts on your computer

You have too many small part ions..Resize them using any of the tools suggested.

If you initially starts of with good size and the size shrinks when you run programs; that would me you have a paging file located in size. You might need to upgrade the RAM and change settings not create the paging file.

Had a similar problem and used to happen when running kaspersky Antivirus.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I managed to remove more programs from drive C and the free space increased from 100mb to 500mb. But to my surprise, the space has now reduced to 350mb. I have run antivirus software but it says there are no viruses. What the hell is happening??? I have also emptied the recycle bin.

seems like that is definitely a virus/malware problem. What antivirus are you using, and is it up to date? Sometimes viruses can deactivate the antivirus software in place.

Try downloading another antivirus and scheduling either a boot time scan or do one yourself in safe mode.

I would recommend Avast! but for quickly identifying a problem, try Malwarebytes Antimalware - its a small download, and getting virus definitions should be relatively quick...

I have been using AVG. I have downloaded Malwarebytes Antimalware and scanned the system. It has detected and removed a trojan and I seem to have gained an extra 100mb disk space. Thanks.

It's really ironical that I have 2gb of free space on my 'idiot' phone but have to struggle to get at least 0.5gb on my HP laptop. How times have changed technologywise!
