Whom did they steal from?? That is their luck. You have every right to ask God why you were born in a disadvantaged background. Kwenda fanya kazi, you might have something your children too will inherit.
When someone tells us when son's of a former president are mentioned adversely in this KROLL REPORT it is cool, that's stupid. I am going to work for my wealth honestly and i will forever condemn those thugs. I know my poverty or wealth is my sole responsibility and Moi's thuggish ways are not an excuse for being poor, but i'll never think it's cool that he stole.

How do they expect the nation to be fed if they can't farm or let others farm the land? Stupidity. Yea my THIEVISH neighbour owns 5000acres of land and they till 1000. SEGEMIA owns 10 and he and his 20 children tills 8 communally. The remaining 2 SEGEMIA and his 20 children have built their houses on. Why would SEGEMIA think that his next door neighbour who is a thief is an admirable person because he tills 1000 out of his STOLEN 5000 acres??? Secondly, will you just go about clapping and praising the WANUGU nextdoor because he has a big farm that only 1/5 of is utilised and complaining that another person is calling him a thief? I should work and accumulate wealth honestly and start calling a spade a spade And if you live next to a neighbour who is a thief and you are all praise about him, that's silly.

All the posts are centred on land grabbing and thiefing. Kwani our lives are just stuck on land alone and nothing else??? Sooner or later we might start blaming our falling education standards on land grabbing...Always looking for an excuse (and always lame) for our failures and unfortunate circumstances. By the way @ MainaT I was in Mandera Town in February 2011 and I was just amused. A very huge river by name Daua River originating from Ethipian Highlands passes along the town. the river forms the border with Ethiopia. You know what..on the Kenyan side the People were busy receiving relief food while on the Ethiopian side the falk were in their farms irrigating and digging..What a contrast!!! And then serikali imekataa kutupatia chakula na watu wanakufa njaa!!Surely.

We get your point brother-Israel too is essentially a desert but farming is big there and there is no reason this can't be replicated here in Kenya. And it's not just about land: all the circumstances we find ourselves in in all spheres of our lives are mostly out of our own making(WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT WE ARE NOW TO AN EXTENT MOST WILL NEVER WANT TO BELIEVE IS TRUE), no one's denying that. Our only objection is that you seem to condone thievish ways. Perhaps you should have used better examples to drive your point home.

Sigemia-if u want to tell us to quit whining and go farm in the semi-arid areas, why not just say that instead? Segemea-the majority of wazuans form the backbone of this soon-to-be great nation. The get up everyday, rush to work (perhaps overlapping now and then), they earn their salaries or profits and most importantly pay taxes so that the likes of Thief and the son of the Thief can afford to hold rallies like yesterday and today. They are the ones who invest in IPOs, in every new real estate project, the buy from mama mboga and many mitumba sellers. Some are abroad and earn this nation the largest portion of its fx. In other words, they are the last people you want to tell that its stupid to complain and be outraged by those who choose to steal to get wealthy. And then brag about it. Sehemu ndio nyumba

I will tell you something @ Mainat. For the umpteenth time i have already said that i do not support thiefing of any sort, but i still stand by my argument...that kenyans will always invent lame excuses for not being where they want to be and i have given some very basic and practical examples. And then there is this British couple who were working with ICRC (International Committee of the red Cross) in Lodwar. When their contracts expired in around 2004 they chose to settle in Lodwar instead of going back to Britain. They were allocated a small piece of barren land. 7 years down line the barren land has been turned into a garden of Aden with all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Now this couple is a living testimony of how myopic we are about obvious possibilities. Just like the british couple, a catholic priest in Nyambene district in Kiegoi region (on the extreme right immediately after passing Kangeta township on your way to Maua town), a similar garden of Aden exist. The priest has a lot of grapevines in this once barren land. He makes wines and exports it. In fact this is where i ate my first kukumanga fruit. The priest told us that he started the farming as a hobby in around 1985. Same story as above and all this is happening right under our noses. What does this tell you???

That you think everyone else should be content with what's left after the "big men" are done eating at the table. That we should sit by quietly while people belch after their big meals. People must never stop talking about injustices that have taken place...lest people forget and keep doing things the old way. If you want to grow fruits in Turkana, you're welcome...I'd rather grow fruit right here where I am. That is, assuming no one unfairly alienated my land.

it seems to me that everybody seems to misunderstand the fella segemias contention... if i read correctly the fella is probably saying that kenya is so full of endless possibilities that people could possibly engage in to alleviate their poverty and uplift their living standards... unfortunately we are not looking at these possibilities, but all our thinking is converged towards the past land injustices. we all know who has grabbed and stolen what and the justice mechanisms in place so far might take care of that... however, the past should not be a barrier or an excuse to our own technological, industrial and agricultural advancement... ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

One thing is for sure though, Israelis are miles ahead of us in agriculture despite us having a much bigger utilizable land. By the way Obi the other day you were so happy that kenya was the largest importer of second hand cars while we have the capability to manufacture ours. The numerical machines premises where the first kenyan car was assembled in industrial area is rotting away. You seem to be obsessed with anything given from outside the borders.

That is precisely what I am talking about. For all those members sharing the same thoughts twendeni tufanye kazi, let us forget about the past misdeeds of our forefathers and let us focus on the future for the sake of our children and country. Passing on blames and other uncalled for excuses from one generation to the next will take us to nowhere.

Continuum.
continuum ~ noun very rare (kn-tny-m)
n. pl. con·tin·u·a (-tny-) or con·tin·u·ums
1. a continuous nonspatial whole or extent or succession in which no part or portion is distinct or distinguishable from adjacent parts
Go figure.

segemia or is it sehemu nyeti. we get your point. The thing is institutions have to be efficient and effective and everyone should get equal opportunity. while someone like moi steals land or allocates lands to his friends for a song or just calls NBK and gets a 2% loan which he will never pay while I am here toiling day and night to secure a 1/4 acre in Ngong and get a 25% interest loan and when I miss 1 payment they auction my business...then I have a right to Whine.tuko pamoja? i.am.back!!!!

Why do we keep on blaming other people and each other for our own inadequacies and shortcomings??? I really don't quite know, but i think we are either stupid, lazy or just accept that we were born poor and should remain poor.
I have been reading some threads here and their contents from the so called knowledgeable lot leaves a lot to be desired. Why?
1. When somebody tells us that when Kenyatta and Moi curved handsome tructs of land land for themselves more than 30 years ago that is when we were condemned to poverty or disadvantaged situation that is stupidity.
Do we have anyone here whose piece of land was taken by force by kenyatta or Moi??
Again there is still alot of land left in kenya (more than 60% is unoccupied). Why do you want that small one from K and M??? Kwenda fanya kazi and buy yours!!
2. When somebody tells us that the descedants of the Kenyatta and Moi are are thieves just because they inherited from their fathers that is stupidity.
Whom did they steal from?? That is their luck. You have every right to ask God why you were born in a disadvantaged background. Kwenda fanya kazi, you might have something your children too will inherit.
3. when somebody tells us that our area or constituency is under-developed just because "our man" is not being given that public office to run, kubafu! that is stupidity.
When your man is in that office his salary is his and his alone with his family. You never and will never appear even as an AOB in his salary budget. Go search the job market for where you fit and convince the job owner that you are the right person and you will earn a salary too.
4. When somebody tells us that they are poor and jobless just because most of the companies are owned by people from pluto, idiot!! that is stupidity.
They came and started from nothing and with what you had, nothing more. You must be silly not to realise the value of the vast resources lying idle under your watch. Kwenda fanya kazi, make your own company and start creating wealth and jobs for your people.
More, more, more and more stupidity...Bring it on.
your whole argument is retarded, cant be bothered to debate you coz you wont get it
