I am a Kalenjin and I know men like Ruto in my community, no offence but most of those kind of men were brought up by a church loving parents and when other men were spending time in the bush to go through traditional initiation, they skip that part and decided to be initiated not in the bushes like other men but by their mothers kitchen. Well those kind of men shade tears in a moment notice and act like little girls.

Having pointed out that, Ruto will corporate with ICC and will give up anyone or everyone given that opportunity. I can bet Ruto will give up Uhuru before Uhuru give up Ruto. The different between Kosgei and Ruto is largerly influence by that initation process. I have lived in Western country for so many years but, I can easly recognize those men who skipped the bush, they whin, they gossip, they cry easly, it is amazing how such one month event influence character for generation.

@Drunkard

You amaze me.

It is an accepted fact that William Ruto is the leader of the Kalenjin Nation today – in as far as politics is concerned.

If you are a Kalenjin as you allege, you must know this, even better than the rest of us.

Indications are that Henry Kosgey will be following Ruto in the run up to the coming elections.

Your object of admiration - RAO knows who calls the shots in Kalenjin land.
He would do anything to get Ruto back to ODM, for he is the real prize.

If you @Drunkard, are a Kalenjin, and are not with Ruto, then you are in a miniscule minority among the Kalenjin– more of a lost Sheep.

Just as absolute power corrupts leaders, so does absolute fanaticism blind the people from logic

@Nandwa,
The political dynamic of Kalenjins is more complicated that you put it, first Kosgei is a very sleeky guy and he understand politics better than any other Kalenjin politician, having said that, Kosgei will alway be in the winning team because of a number of things; he stays away from controversies, he talks less and his stands are known less, so he can easly flip to PNU or ODM or Ruto's camp at any time.

Secondly, Ruto case is a little overrated, first, Ruto is a nandi, however, he draws more support from Kipsigis community more than even the nandi community and any other Kalenjin sub-tribe. Problem number 2 for Ruto is the fact that his support is based on one things,the desire of Kalenjin to go back to power and he has manage to convience alot of Kalenjins that he can be the president and thats where his support is pivoted. The problem with this is that Ruto did not sell himselve just as a Kalenjin leader he sold himselve a little more expensive~ President~, walking back will cost him support. The othert issue is Kalenjins do not trust Kikuyus that make it hard for Uhuru-Ruto, because Kalenjins want it Ruto-Uhuru and thats how Ruto has been selling himselve to the people.

Thirdly, Ruto is surounded by very useless first time Kalenjin MPs who will not see parliment in 2013, Kutuny, Kiptanui, lagat, Simam and koech, will not be back, those sits will go to ODM or another party, that leave Ruto with nobody because Dr Kosgei and Kosgei and the older and smart Kipsigis MP have stayed away from Ruto

Surely! Accepted by who? If it were so, we would not have seen the fracas in UDM.

But why are you stereotyping an entire group to your liking? Then calling names those who think differently?

This kind of double speak is of politicians. You blast one part of the country (the lakeside) for having a leader as far as politics is concerned, then you want to create the same type of leader in another part of the country (Rift valley).

What do you want? Tueleze kinaga ubaga.
