The optimism expressed here convinces me that we are just victims of mistaken identity.

If you hate somebody, dont hit him from all sides, now a london based research institute ranks us next to zimbabwe.i find it disastrous because this reports circulate the whole world.are we just that or some pple want to pull us down?the euro zone is bleeding but the forcus is on africa and we are quoted as one of the worlds worst performing economy.

Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Mind you Europe is in crisis because Africa no-longer listen to them of think about them. With their post colonial minds they will write non-ethical studies as Africa shift to do business with the East and South american. We are really hitting them under the belt and their economies are shrinking with their population seeking employment in Africa and Asia especially middle east. When did you last buy an item labbelled made in Europe or America? If you want to kill a biting dog, just starve it to death!Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Applause Next their Mornarchs will be down. Jamaica is becoming a republic soon. Very soon that "Commonwealth" thread will break. What Africa leaders need do is use rule of law and stop wars.

Hahahaha i laugh at such nosense reports. Prosperity is when you are developing and growing.Prosperity is not when you are stagnant or contracting.

prosperity is when my grandparents were forced labourers on a colonial farm, but now i work for pay in a foreign country.

prosperity is when my parents didn't go to school but i went to university.

Prosperity is where the EAC will have a monetary union in 10 years where the only other union took decades.

prosperity to me is not if i have blackberry, an Ipad, range rover in my parking and a mortgage.
Life is short. Live passionately.

IMHO, I think we should look at metrics used in the ratings before we condem the research as heresy.
To me, what matters more is whether we are making progress year on year on. Are we better than we were 10yrs ago?

Nice approach, i also think we should learn from criticism, whether positive or negative and from that put measures in place to ensure that we are where we want to be.... but rubbishing pointers without understanding doesnt help... just because we have expanded a few roads around doesnt mean we are doing better... our potential is far much more.....we should learn to listen and take positive measures only then shall we achieve above average and see vision 2030 come to pass....

That's ok and we have to also agree anybody undermining our +ve efforts be reprimanded on the spot!! Otw, Africans will always THINK themselves poor & hopeless...in perpetual NEED of help from elsewhere. That is a position I personally hold very strongly!

@Cde M* well well, the best reprimand is facts, counter the undermining with facts and no one will come up with negative news on you, if he has a name to keep... i have an issue with the thinking that we are poor and hopeless..... the day majority of africans stop thinking in this line thats the day that we shall move to the next level... poverty is all in the mind no where else... we have to think beyond it and not be afraid to... we will not develop by reprimanding negative thinkers but by thinking and thinking alone shall make us develop and desire to develop..... look at the federal state of dubai one Sheikh Makhtoum had to think today the capital Adu-dhabi and the whole gulf is following his footsteps... do not be afraid to.....
