I am saying this based on what he says on T.V. But then, maybe he is restricted to answering questions determined by the media houses. And this places him completely out of the game.
Yes. Before the interview, on the basis of the rapport they have built from earlier interactions, don't they have usually a tete a tete with the host?
The recorded interview is just to recap and to sanitize the exchange to acceptable standards for public consumption.
