1st they should simply award Ulinzi yesterday's super 8 match so they can go to the final. Second ban the hooligans for like the next 10 matches.Should sober them up. It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt... -Mark Twain

the comments here might not necessarily be about last night's game, not even about Gor Mahia. It is about the fans (and their tribe; because you don't like it). But let me say here.....Luo to the CORE and Gor to the END!

It's almost like the ref/linesman went out of his way to bait the K'ogalo fans with the denied goal, the fans remained calm and he immeadiately pulled of another howler. @Applebees Most here calling for banning of Gor fans are saying this with zero objectivity. They are more concerned with settling long lingering scores against a certain tribe through any means. Having said that, as a kenyan soccer fan and a Gor fan, I think the club should be made to pay for the mess made by the fans. Inaction will do more damage than good to Kenyan football. Uncivilized. Immature. Thuggery. Unacceptable. Inexcusable. Illegal. End of. All my friends are heathens, take it slow. Wait for them to ask you who you know. Please don't make any sudden moves.

I don't know exactly how this thread has turned an attack on Luos, this is the kind of talk that lead to PEV in 2007.....mara tunaonewa sijui what. The fact of the matter is that the fans (whether Luos, Luhyas etc)were wrong to react they way they did. If it were an FA, Fifa match or any other international match the call would have been for the fans to be banned from the Stadium for several matches and the club would have been fined.....hakuna mambo ya impunity in football! This is the second time they've done that this season.

I just cannot believe that some people see the riot and the calls for punishment through tribal lenses. What exactly ails some people? Obi, Nyuki, surely this kind of fan behaviour would never have been allowed in your beloved English premier league or in any self respecting league. When will Kenyan football be safe enough for people to take their families without fearing stone throwing goons? And all you see is tribal score settling over imaginary .... whatever! Nktest... I will remind you that it was during a GOR match last year when some fans DIED. What this a tribal thing? I remember there was a young girl from Meru who died then. Where do you see the LUOs in this? You seem to ignore the fact that GOR has fans accross the country many of whom would love to attend a match in peace and go home afterwards. I can however assure you of one thing, if this kind of behaviour is not reined in , fans will go back to watching the English FA and leave the stone throwers to attend matches. And this just when Kenyan football was gaining interest among fans. Just a few year ago clubs were playing to empty stadiums. It was so bad for GOR that if the Prime Minister did not organize an Harambee, players would go unpaid. Now they are a serious team simply because gate takings have improved, sponsorship has trickled in and now they want to jeopardize this? And all you see is Ukabila? Great men are not always wise, neither do the aged understand judgement...

I actually also support punishment for the clubs transgressions and said so in my earlier post, but I have also been in this blog for long enough to see through some of the posts written by the usual suspects and they know themselves. Before you put this comment,I had not seen another posting that touched on the Luo tribe.Mature people (here) are calling for the banning of the fans and fine the team (Gor). This happens everywhere, whether is Europe,South America and all over but it is only in Kenya and by people like you who shout that your tribe is being targeted when you act in hooliganism. This kind of talk should be highly discouraged. "You're not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it". Malcolm X

(looking left, right...) Could I be one of the "usual suspects"? Isnt this the same hypocrital perception that brands some alliances tribal n others democratic? Obi you lived in the diaspora. I expect much better from you! TULIA.........UFUNZWE!

I agree with all, the fans should be banned, but then again will that stop them? Are you guys trying to say that if another team had the same following and felt unjustified by the referee, they wouldn't act the same? ....ask yourself why people went into PEV? it is because they felt that justice wasn't done....it is not a preserve of fans alone...and yesterday, was there personal cars destroyed?

This behaviour seem to be an extension of our collective misbehaviour as kenyans socially and politically. solution? Blacklist the fans! Leave Gor alone. If it was the players misbehaving they should also face the music. IMPUNITY, IMPUNITY, IMPUNITY!! You will know that you have arrived when money and time are not mutually exclusive "events" in you life!

To the dimwits here who can't stop seeing things through tribal lenses, what tribes were the cars which were smashed? Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

it is better to argue with people who never went to school(we would take them as they are) than argue with people who masquerades as highly learned. If a wrong was done, its not the tribe that did it but stupid hooligans and exactly what happened during the Gor and Ulinzi match. Njung'e wrote:To the dimwits here who can't stop seeing things through tribal lenses, what tribes were the cars which were smashed? True, why are 'we' trying to rationalize criminality in a modern society? Sad really. Why are 'we' trying to bring in tribal angles to what is criminal? If all these hooligans are all coincidentally from your untouchable 'tribe', I can see the denominator in your anger, channel it to the right place baffs!! Destruction of private property, robbery with/without violence, causing a breach of peace etc are all crimes. Cops should have nabbed a few of these buggers and made them examples for the rest of their ilk.
