I read somewhere that Kenya is the least prone country to natural disasters in the world [citation needed]

Quake is said to have moved the main Japan island by a whooping 10' (2.4 Metres) and the earth axis by 4" (100 mm).....haiyaa!

Very Scary.

@Njunge, i was looking at the videos and i have to say let's hope we never ever experience this in Kenya coz most of the country will likely turn to rubble considering the non enforcement of building code laws.

Very very true. That is the price we pay for impunity...people use this word casually but it is the root cause of most problems afflicting our beloved country.

Compare Haiti's 7.0 earthquake with the hundreds of thousands of fatalities and Japan's 8.9 earthquake+tsunami with less than ten thousand fatalities. If a 7.0 were to hit close to Nairobi, many flats would completely collapse. If it happens at night, the death toll would be huge. For now, prayer is all we got.
