Isis stopped using the dark Web where they can be picked and reverted to sophisticated encryption since Snowden revealed to the world how Intel esp electronic is gathered. Encrypted apps abound eg tor and Isis have shunned western Web systems like yahoo, WhatsApp, android etc and are increasingly using software from the east to evade detection. With so much chaos in Syria human Intel is limited.

What is the difference between the christian people's crusade and the radicalized Islamist jihadist? The difference is that both were radicalized by religion
Christianity is 2000 years old while Islam is 1400 years.The radicalized Jihadist are doing what the radicalized crusaders did 1000 years ago.
In 1000 years to come,there will be a radicalized version of Hamburglar who will be killing all the Christians, Jews, Muslims in the name of atheism!
Like Tycho said, ISIS has everything to do with Islam just like Peoples crusades had everything to do with Christianity but NOT the FAITH of Islam or Christianity!
