We all know about the dilutive shares so its already in the share price.. The announcement will have no effect..

definately those who are buying are brave.if they can stare dilution straight in the face and still buy..wow..you need balls of steel...Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

... I get the feeling they might make the profit announcement and release the ESOP dates at the same time, one to mitigate the other.

To think that esop will not affect share price is to be optimistic. Things like bonuses and esop have no respect for any company. Good thing is its on 9 percent. I think it would be unfair for the management to announce both of them at half yr results, to the shareholders.

Any person buying the share currently (and since the announcement of the 140M shares ESOP for that matter)knows fully well that the share is trading 'come ESOP' equivalent to a 9.7% dilutional effect.......Unless the investor is buying with the assumption that the CMA will block the 140M shares ESOP? As such, the current EPS should be adjusted from Ksh 1.2 to Ksh 1.08 for 2010. But what is of interest is that the forward EPS for 2011 is in the range of Ksh 2 after all the dilutional effect is factored. Thats why the effect of the dilution is in my opinion negligible after factoring in the earnings growth this company is providing.

Happy hunting.

9% dilution Vs. 50% growth in EPS. Be reasonable.

More good news (is there any other kind lately?) for KK shareholders from Business Daily...

The reduced use of fuel-driven power generators and price controls have prompted fresh realignments in the oil market with Total Kenya being the biggest loser and KenolKobil emerging as the biggest winner, thanks to the even spread of its fuel stations throughout the country.

Data from the Petroleum Institute of East Africa (PIEA)— the industry lobby — shows that Total’s marketshare dropped to 24.1 per cent in March compared to 31.1 per cent in the same period last year. Its rivals, KenolKobil, gained 4.8 per cent to 23.5 per cent.

The offer must have added another 3-6%
