I assume this is a CSR vehicle investing for a charitable course thus returns or lack thereof will not benefit shareholders; at least not directly. Time is money, so money is time. Money saved is time gained in reverse! Money stores your life’s energy. You expend your energy, get paid money, and store that money for a future purchase made in a currency.

Look at centum trading at 50 all the way from 39 when all people here were shouting negativity. my Faith in wazua remains subdued.let me sell half of it "Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning."

If the said constants remained intact it should have followed a downward gravity trend. It went against the expectation by announcing dividends that's it. This was out of the blues and nobody knew it was cooking in DJs head.this sparked a rally. But the dust will settle soon.just sold all my 8k.nothing left for me here.

Mlennyma, as the saying goes, let your winners run. Centum is undervalued, not just by most wazuans, but by a lot of others as well. Run the numbers and you will see this stock still has a lot of room to run. As for being greedy, of course you should be greedy. Why are we investors? For the interesting conversations on this forum? No. To make money.

No. It is a false premise. The wazuans arguing that the only way was/is down for Britam have been proven wrong over and over again. It is a solid company with good prospects, as I have said many times in that thread. This Munga investment news, that he is placing a huge bet on the future of the company, only reinforces my opinion that the stock will hit 18 this year. The problem with many wazuans is that they love to tear down, but they don't like to do analysis. They fail to recognize that Centum and Britam are building foundations that are solid, that will make them into dominant African companies. In Centum's case, they are building the capacity to develop projects that are unprecedented in East Africa. There is plenty of money here (and willing to come here), but not plenty of capacity. If Centum builds the latter, they will capture more than their share of the former. In Britam's case, their investment in IT and regional expansion, among other things, is putting them at the tip of the innovation sword for insurers in the region. South African and Nigerian companies dominate insurance in Africa presently, but I believe Britam will displace many of them as market leaders from Uganda to Malawi. Even marginal increases in insurance penetration rates in the region and/or underwriting efficiencies make Britam into a cash machine. Now, wait for the haters to attack my post with comments on Kirubi, Mworia, Munga and Wairegi, with complaints that all Kenyans are thieves, etc., but never with numbers, never with valuations and never with substance. Let them. As they do so, I will be making money.

Let them. As they do so, I will be making money. Britam Malawi(Real insurance) I think was closed following persistent losses. It was Real insurance which Britam (K) acquired 2014 that invigorated the share price to 40/-, the highest in this insurer's history. Britam abroad like in Kenya is facing unprecedented challenges from old folks, unable to steer change, at the helm . A paltry dividend announced recently of mere kes 0.30 was to blindfold the investors and speculators alike when financial statements were slapped and bled with staggering loss of more than 50% under. Now comes a purchase of 23% stake of the Mauritian fugitive Dawood Rawat who has till today filed a suit in the international court seeking compensation up to $1 billion from his government for illegal seizure of his assets following claims of running Ponzi pyramid scheme. It is not clear how the sword of justice will rip off the activities of the parties involved in this stake most likely sending panic ripples across the owners of the troubled establishment. The only room left for accommodation in this counter is speculation. Lets sit and watch how events keep unfolding. John 5:17 But Jesus replied, “My Father is always working, and so am I.”
