but this means this ipo ain't for institutions unless they buy after ipo and that can't be immediately coz overvalued.
this is wanjiku vs the selling institutions( stockbrokers). it may be bloody this fight

Finally you wear the money goggles. The cheaper it is the retailers it baits... Marketing 101.

Why should I as a big fund manager fight out with wanjikus for some few slices priced at a premium? I'd instead push for a private placement on my terms since I have the big cash ticket. IPOs are mostly exits thus why retailers/wanjikus are called for the party...

ION, this CMA response is a poor show -

I'm glad the greed didn't take over. the institutions will enter later when dust settles and they can get large significant chunks.

Rule of thumb is to largely ignore new listings.

Well said. Investing requires more of discipline than anything else. Now to wait for the next fat pitch.

Hi everyone,

Lots of good points raised. I'm generally skeptical of IPOs, but this looks like it may offer some long-term value to individual investors.

I just posted my quick valuation exercise for the IPO here.

Is the NSE IPO a Bargain?

Many thanks, and I greatly value your feedback!

How many brokers have a buy reco on this listing? How can the brokers rate this listing yet it is a part of them? Is this not conflict of interest?

Update - I can see CMA noted the conflict, but when the window is about to close. Bad taste Sad

All recommendations so far from the brokerage firms are a buy with 20-50% upside potential. Very wide % difference.

NSE is a low risk business hence low returns. I largely ignore new listings. I will watch from the sidelines and even in future, i just dont see why I will ever invest in this share because of likely low returns associated with its low risk. Good luck to those who are investing in the IPO
