Fast forward to Tuesday, when we were 'in control of all floors'. The site was rubble. Check this video confirmation- http://www.youtube.com/w...YI&feature=youtu.be

There are so many questions to be answered at the right time.

we need to get the facts first. like for example, how do we know the terrorists didn't have bombs that they detonated causing the floors to collapse?

When the Govt spokesman says the floors collapsed because of the heat 'due to fire lit by Al Shabaab' I think I error on the Al Shabaab side! If you have to lie, lie with style!!

The issue here is - Is it true Al Shabaab tied hostages with explosives to pillars in the basement? I believe it is but looking at their twitter handle it seems they were unhappy their trap did not take out as many KDF as designed, why? Maybe simply because the KDF decided no hostage would make it out alive anyway so take out the attackers with their hostages and end any new calculated loss of life..

Confirmed: A gaping hole at Westgate Mall's roof was caused by Kenyan soldiers who fired rocket-propelled grenades inside, knocking out a support column. The soldiers fired to distract a terrorist sniper so hostages could be evacuated.

Is there a single hostage who was rescued after the KDF bombing?

Gichangi should be replaced. I propose Maj Gen Ali the former police commissioner. If I'm not wrong he was in the intelligence in the army and he's no nonsense. It's time for heads o roll.

BBI will solve it

You cant have your cake and eat it. If we want top notch security we have to be prepared to pay for it no two ways about it.

If these idiots know how many times Gichangi and his boys have saved their lives and those of Kenyans they should be kissing his arse and saluting him not yapping about sackings and reforms!

Our boys are one of the finest they only need support. Even in the West with all their sophisticated surveillance sh*t happens. Our boys are overstretched and with all the Nairobi jam, how do people expect miracles in response - give police money to buy choppers -

Hell the devilution memo meant people move from Nairobi to the ounties to reduce traffic jam- instead jalopies are increasing daily on the road

These same people asking for top of the notch security are the same people who in some other threads are complaining of paying taxes. Bure kabisa, take it or leave it. Or if you want to live securely like in the first world, PAY for it.

I have not seen many condemning the police. I believe that the NSIS is the body that is under attack and rightly so.

They need to explain a few things;
1. Is it true that some foreigners who were being deported to Somalia escaped in the aftermath of JKIA fire?

2. Why was the JKIA fire incident treated so casually?

3. Did they act on the tip off provided by Sonko's Pakistani lady?

4. If they prepared reports, who did they share intelligence reports with?

Its not the work of the NSIS to follow up on intelligence briefs, thats the work of the cops. Did they? Do they have the capacity?

@Maka, its not a matter of how much the OCPD,OCS are paid, but can we as a country afford better qualified individuals to join the force. Its clear those who join the force do it just to get a job since u can get in with Cs and Ds.

Quote:
A composition that a pupil wrote at school helped detectives identify a key witness who may provide crucial information on the Saturday’s Westgate Mall attack.

The pupil in a Nairobi school, told how his aunt’s life was saved by a stranger who warned her to leave the mall just one hour before the deadly attack.

The woman was at the mall when a man approached and advised her to leave as quickly as possible since “there was going to be a stampede.”

The pregnant woman, who stays in Gigiri, rushed home and shared the information with the family members.

Her nephew then went to school and when asked to write a composition about how he spent his Saturday, he narrated how his aunt survived the attack following the warning.

According to the pupil’s teachers, who contacted the police about the composition, he had written about what his aunt had told him.

Through the child, detectives traced the woman who Wednesday gave a detailed description of the man and how he warned her.

“The woman was told to leave the mall because being pregnant, she could not manage to get out because of the mayhem that was about to unfold. We believe she will give useful information to assist us,” the investigator said.

This, detectives say, indicates the group had positioned themselves in strategic positions around the mall.

If only she had reported this to the nearest police station maybe things would have been different.

from a KDF pal involved in the operation;
- from cctv nine people pull up at westgate with guns blazing
- enter the mall shoot in the air to alert fellow assailants who were already in the mall then proceed to shooting at people
- number of assailants in excess of 25 took up positions in various parts of the mall
- assailants seemed to specifically target asians and foreigners even took photos of them and posted on twitter before killin them
-assailants rigged 50 cal gun with laser controlled unmanned automatic firing, rigged most of the mall with small explosives
- assailant snipers took positions in the vents
the above i believe played out to prolong the siege becuase the initial respondents to the siege did not expect such level of planning done by the terrorists

So some escaped

Waaa...if this is true..these aint "young boys, should have been done away with by Saturday afternoon" stuff as some have perpetuated. With these shit load of badass equipment and planning, yenyewe things were deep and thick.
