Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly We didn't jump up and down. The 9.55 trade was obviously done across the books. Don't fear, the real value will be seen in 2016 & beyond.

I do expect an additional 40Cts dividend to top the 10cts paid as interim to make it 50cts this 2015. What else can we ask for if a bonus is far?
The new found riches will only kick in when multinationals appoint or or two downstream companies to sell their locally processed products for the first year in 2019.

Good news for KK for fuel deliveries in Feb & March as the amount needed to finance cargoes reduces. Unfortunately, GoK has imposed excise taxes at the pump so consumers may not benefit as much.

@VituVingiSana;
Excise tax was not imposed to all the various fuel categories as u think;
Super petrol there was no change in tax;
Diesel excise tax was increased by ksh.2.13
Kerosene there was no change in excise tax
Expect a reduction of about ksh.8 on super petrol when the review is done next week Thursday 14 January 2016

@Ericsson - I may have misspoken. This article says 16% VAT will be imposed on all fuel products.
http://www.businessdaily...2/-/5cnnvn/-/index.html

From ERC's website [here they discuss excise duty not VAT] http://www.erc.go.ke/ind...est-news&Itemid=579

Excise duty for Super Petrol remained the same at Kshs 19.895 per litre while kerosene remained zero rated. Could it be the cargoes that landed in Dec & Jan will now be subject to Excise Duty?

However, one cargo of diesel was increased by Kshs 2.061 per litre. The other diesel cargoes considered in this month’s price review remain unaffected since their last dates of discharge were before the effective date of the new excise tax (i.e. 1st Dec 2015). This has been verified with the Kenya Revenue Authority. All diesel cargoes in Dec & Jan will not be affected by higher excise taxes.

So @ericsson:
1) Are there 2 taxes we will get hit with i.e VAT and Excise Tax?
2) Were all cargoes of PMS landed before 1 Dec [in the 14 Dec price review] and not hit by excise taxes? Or is there no excise tax for PMS?
3) What's the impact on fuel prices for AGO now that all cargoes for the 14 Jan review will have landed after the re-introduction of the excise tax?

And then to bring it home. Does this affect KK's cash position negatively?

VituVingiSana;
The Director General was even on TV yesterday where he said consumers should expect lower fuel prices due to currency being stable at ksh.102 to the dollar and falling oil prices.
He stated that only diesel had it's excise duty raised by ksh.2 as I have quoted.

For cargoes that landed in January;diesel will continue being subjected to the new excise duty while super and kerosene will have no effect.All diesel cargoes in December and January will be subjected to the new excise duty.

For the 16% VAT that will take effect in september and will affect mostly cooking gas.This was removed sometimes back when gava wanted to encourage it's consumption and reduce destruction of forests/use of charcoal for cooking.

The article on business daily is very misleading;I stopped trusting that newspaper as their news is normally vague.
To summarise and answer your last questions;
1.Diesel all cargo will be subjected to the new excise duty,VAT hakuna.
3.Fuel prices are expected to reduce since the reduction in international crude oil prices outweighs the impact of the marginal increase in excise duty for diesel.

The year 2015 has ended and what is ours hs already been set. 2015 was a better year and the harvest was not very bad for KK.
I pray that KK go straight to the point and give us the yields without Delay by February Month.
