Kassin will do nothing about this one.Crimean parliament voted to be with Russia and force won't change the wish of the Crimea populace. If US thinks otherwise, then i can't get what democracy is all about.Meanwhile, the West talks and talks.Russian is busy tying loose ends and the West won't do a thing about it.

True guka Applause we know West and NATO have sided with rebels in many occasions including Libya and recently Egypt. It's obvious that's had US been 'nearer' than Russia, they'd have been the first to enter, and say they'read protecting their citizens, then afterwards set up base. Russian reaction was just natural.

Let Ukrainians go to the box and decide.

Vlad the Bad Steals a March on the West

Putin swiftly moved his knight into the empty chess square of Crimea, thereby regaining full control of one of Russia’s four strategic port regions: Sevastopol, Murmansk, St Petersburg and Vladivostok.

I wonder why people are surprised at this move. It is the oldest trick in the book of state expansion and also the cause of a few wars. Cases in point:

Annexation of Texas from Mexico by the United States...... well, they first declared themselves independent before joining the US. American settlers went to Texas then part of Mexico halafu wakaanza kuleta kichwa ngumu ati wananyanyaswa. They took up arms and defeated the Mexican Army and declared a brief independence only to later join the US.

Hitler's main reason for going to war was the protection of German people living in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria etc. His excuse, those other serikalis were nyanyasaring the German people in their territories. His solution, let us have one big country of Germans only so the land that is occupied by any German will be part of Germany.

Israels refusal to have a 2 state solution. We are protecting our people (settlers) in the occupied territories.

Russia knows nobody will be throwing stones because they have all done it before.

Improvements in fracking technology, and new techniques of directional drilling since the millennium, have turned the United States into the world’s largest natural gas producer, brought prices down, and prompted many coal- and oil-fired industries to switch to gas. American port terminals originally designed to import liquefied natural gas (LNG) are now being modified to facilitate exports, and a growing surplus may start to find its way to Europe, reducing Europe’s dependence on Russia.
Once the dust settles, Putin will be finished in international politics.

They have to amend the law first because currently as we chat today there's a law that prohibits export of crude etc etc. And even if the law is amended at how much will it be priced given that it has to be transported across the atlantic to get to EU? Whistle Whistle

The US still doesn't have enough energy, many commercials and documentaries will tell you that they do but do you think the debate on the Keystone pipeline would be there if they believed that they had enough to run their economy?

Yes, Murchr

Euphemism for 'drill baby, drill!'. Simple means 'more fracking'. Then more earthquakes. Nice!!!!

@Kusadikika you've summarized it in the best way. US do these tricks all the time, and no one condemns. And they are still occupying some countries until now, and we know how they ended there.
