Roman has one big flaw that overrides everything else as far as Chelsea is concerned - he can't hire a manager and let him do his work. Jose was winning EPl with double figure margins over the 2nd placed team - what does Roman do?Force Jose to buy Shevchenko coz Romnan's and Shevchenko's wives are best friends!!!!WTF??? We all know how that story ended. Torres was forced down Ancelotti's throat, at 50M pounds. We all know how that story ended. If Roman continues in the same vein....you guessed it.....we all know how that story will end! BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

Arsenal's target is now 3rd spot, i believe we'll get there before the end of this month. With the man with the golden touch (see link below), this is possible...but I believe Arsenal would have done better, had Wenger been wiser during the transfer window instead of making rush buys after the ManU humiliation... http://www.footytube.com...-106803?ref=hp_ozeit_mem

@bkismat,if you remember well, at the time Shevchenko was joining Chelsea, he had already peaked at Milan but was sort of at a plateau, not the Shevchenko of between 1999 and 2004,and when he joined, his decline had already begun. For Torres, he joined Chelsea after a tumultous WC campaign and he looked tired by the time he was joining Chelsea. Of course his confidence was shredded with every passing game and he has never looked like the Torres of old, only now and then does he do something that brings memories of his old self e.g. the goal he pulled back for Chelsea aganist Man Utd at OT, shortly before the howler of the season. Shev had reached his peak,Torres lack of confidence outweighed the hype he came with, my 2 cents... BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

So Abramovich signed Torres and Schevchenko, same thing happens at Real Madrid and Barcelona....some players are signed because the President wants the there besides didn't we all expect those two players to perform well at Chelsea? At Stamford Bridge they are not interested in developing players, managers are signed with high salaries to win trophies that's why every manager who goes there gets what they want, money to bring in new signings! Why is it that when a manager fails to perform Roman gets blamed but when they win a trophy its the technical team that is praised, I just don't get! AVB had the full support of the owner but the same can't be said about the players. Look at the Chelsea squad (apart from Mata) players who were the best in the league have been mediocre this season. I don't think that has anything to do with Roman, as owner of the club he had to make a decision.
Pep Guardiola's contract at Barca will be over at the end of this season and he's in no rush to sign an extension. He has already achieved so much at Barca and the EPL might be an interesting challenge for the Spaniard. There are so many options available for Roman all he has to do is pick one!

@Taz, I think we're all faulting Roman for not giving coaches enough time. What was AVB brought to do at Chelsea?Anyway,my enemy's problems are my joy. ION http://soccernet.espn.go...le-injury-boost?cc=3888
This is great news for us. Man City players never seem to get any long term injuries so it'll be great to have all these options as we head for the run in, without Vidic of course. Can you imagine City missing Yaya, Silva, Kompany and Aguerro/Mario for the run in? Your guessis as good as mine. BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

...Sad what the modern game has become, however media pressure, players revolt and lastly results went against AVB am sure he will succeed in the future and will come to haunt teams in the premier league sometime in the future...watch this space. ...The evening turned out sombre as we drove back to London on the M1 from the Hawthorns and maybe the writing was on the wall going by the looks after the final whistle, however ALL players on Saturday were a total disgrace they dint play for the manager and it seems i will join the the kind of therapy Arsenal faithful have been undergoing lol.. That said am glad its Roman who sacked AVB personally Sunday morning not some junior emissary and he later went to the dressing room and threatened every-one if results did not improve immediately - needless to say there will be a summer clear-out judging by how that conversation went - can only mean good things for Chelsea! On yesterdays game, the goal before half-time seemed to have knowcked the wind off Tottenham for sometime and they never recovered after that, however the fraud that is Phil Jones was uncovered by Tottenham jana, another overhyped English player was been rushed, and clearly Spurs smelt blood on his wing and how i wish Bale played...Young has a terrific curl on his right foot but so does Defoe arguable the best hitter of the ball in the EPL, however what more does he have? uselees passer, woeful defending, can't dribble..yet another GREAT Man U player coz he scored 2 goals. However they seem to have the bit between their teeth and will push City all the way, April 30th could not come sooner, however we will judge them on Thursday again. By the way what happened to the signing of the DECADE, the pea???? Arry's chips are down, how fortunes can change in this game, from media darling to tactically inept, how i love the English Media..so now he is front runner with Jose to take over from AVB, we don't need either, DI Matteo will do just fine. In Robin we Trust..enuff said!! The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.

@Ric Dees, I'll agree with you on Jones - in fact at some point I saw rafael warming up. Had Lennon stayed on that wing, he'd have been left for dead again and a goal would have been coming, or gotten another yellow, or worse, both! Jones is ok in centre back if well instructed to stay put (when playing with Vidic) or as a defensive midfielder. As for Young, he should be our right wing version of Robben but passes the ball too much instead of just taking the shot. The pea got injured, and Wellbeck pipped him to second in the striker's pecking order - period. Are there any overhyped players who pay for Chelsea? Are there any overhyped players who pay for Chelsea? English players are usually overrated. In fact in the last few years extremely good english talent (read beckham, rooney, owen, gascoine) has been very rare. When I admire the wonder of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in worship of the Creator.
