from a KDF pal involved in the operation;
- from cctv nine people pull up at westgate with guns blazing
five confirmed dead, one tried to shoot his way out and got roasted saturday night.. others died inside.

- enter the mall shoot in the air to alert fellow assailants who were already in the mall then proceed to shooting at people
I was wondering why that little act, cos several witnesses confirmed this

- number of assailants in excess of 25 took up positions in various parts of the mall
So probably some were just in there to rig the place.. then walked out as hostages.. DAMN!!!

- assailants seemed to specifically target asians and foreigners even took photos of them and posted on twitter before killin them
Twitter account?

-assailants rigged 50 cal gun with laser controlled unmanned automatic firing, rigged most of the mall with small explosives
which one is that?

- assailant snipers took positions in the vents
the above i believe played out to prolong the siege becuase the initial respondents to the siege did not expect such level of planning done by the terrorists

That was the most dangerous lot...
So when the running around was happening.. this guys were taking position... the lady who came out through the vent is pretty lucky.

So it might be, this guys did all the killing they needed, took hostages (to kill) then waited for the KDF to slaughter them as well. While we were outside thinking there are hostages in there?
Makes sense to me. If the end game was to die with as many people as possible, why hold hostages?
Damn this evil is unparalleled..

Would the plan here have been to massacre as many civilians and then wait for soldiers for a final dance?

Woi..!!!!!Sad Sad Sad

from what i understood, its a normal 50 cal gun mounted on a tripod then at the point where the gun is attached to the tripod there is a device that is attached that emits a laser set to a radius of 75 metres, anything that comes into this range the gun rotates in that direction and automatically fires, in this case they set the tripod low so that the gun would take out the legs of anybody who came into range coz our forces had bulletproof vests then when one falls to the ground it would finish the job, to take out this gun they got one of the armoured carriers into the building and disabled the gun, the carrier collapsed a staircase while doing this

I may be wrong..but then I could be right

Now you understand why I was shocked by your initial reaction........When these thugs smelled the end was imminent, they started to slaughter the remaining hostages-with knives, head shots etc............The only choice for a potentially violent (frustrated, embarassed and very angry) KDF soldiers was massive violence as payback. Just as they have been trained to do. Kufa gari, kufa dereva......

Yes, and the theory of 25 or more highly trained gunmen makes a lot of sense.

@thimioni
i still have my reservations at the delay/timelapse.

umeskia kina Haji and four others were moving up and down the stairs rescuing people?

I also know for a fact that RECCE were called out,and they were not very happy.

btw where were the terrorists at this point?

Another talking point.

Perhaps strategy was not the strongest point during this operation. It was supposed to be a multifaceted operation. But some teams could not take orders from strangers. Confusion galore. Gunmen get a chance to strategise and finish their job. Hard questions need to be raised.

Fast forward to Tuesday, when we were 'in control of all floors'. The site was rubble. Check this video confirmation- http://www.youtube.com/w...YI&feature=youtu.be

There are so many questions to be answered at the right time.

we need to get the facts first. like for example, how do we know the terrorists didn't have bombs that they detonated causing the floors to collapse?

When the Govt spokesman says the floors collapsed because of the heat 'due to fire lit by Al Shabaab' I think I error on the Al Shabaab side! If you have to lie, lie with style!!

The issue here is - Is it true Al Shabaab tied hostages with explosives to pillars in the basement? I believe it is but looking at their twitter handle it seems they were unhappy their trap did not take out as many KDF as designed, why? Maybe simply because the KDF decided no hostage would make it out alive anyway so take out the attackers with their hostages and end any new calculated loss of life..

@ the end of the day, Kenyans will need an account of what happened from start to the end of this incident.

This is where the problem lies...They have not given concrete figures, on how many died? Alshabab, say they killed 137...totally conflicting info...

Statements like, "we rescued some more..." How many?

Is there any hostage inside who got a video showing the operations of these merciless f$%^#@*?

you are joking right? You probably meant peeing and sh*&^%%*$ on themselves.

Actually according to the american experts being interviewed by some of their press, they say the intensity of the bombs and fire exchange could have brought down the roofs earlier

Before you point fingers at the police, How many Wazuans would take up jobs as police officers under the current terms and conditions? Please raise up your hands

Acknowledging that we are underpoliced we have resorted to private security firms - How much do we care about the welfare of the askaris as we fondly refer them including Waititus 'Maasais'. Do you know your guards at domestic and office / business level? How mindful of their welfare are you?

You cant have your cake and eat it. If we want top notch security we have to be prepared to pay for it no two ways about it.

I dare you to visit any police station survey their working conditions and living conditions before you come here pontificating from the comfort of your sofa.

Even idiotic Mpigs who are expected to know better are playing to the gallery in parliamentSad Sad Sad

If these idiots know how many times Gichangi and his boys have saved their lives and those of Kenyans they should be kissing his arse and saluting him not yapping about sackings and reforms!

Our boys are one of the finest they only need support. Even in the West with all their sophisticated surveillance sh*t happens. Our boys are overstretched and with all the Nairobi jam, how do people expect miracles in response - give police money to buy choppers -

Hell the devilution memo meant people move from Nairobi to the ounties to reduce traffic jam- instead jalopies are increasing daily on the road
watu rudini mashambani mashinani.

No sane gaarment gives true statitics of war victims and this was war - uliza @kiash and George Bush and uncle Barry that ia a no no - classified information. ACCEPT AND MOVE ON

If you want to know how bad our forces are having it, look at how skinny they're compare to your MP! Rutto's neck is heavier than a complete kenya police officer!
