Its a bluff by Naikuni. The only other competition to Boeing is Airbus for intercontinental planes.
Adding Airbus to the fleet will be costly to train/type rate new pilots and ground operations to handle the new platform.
Even then, the only commercially efficient planes that can cross the Atlantic to North America are 777LR, 787 and 747 - all Boeing planes.
The A340 also can but, its a guzzler and Airbus stopped production and will soon stop support. There is a long list waiting for the A350, meaning KQ cant get hold of one for five or more years. The A380 is simply implausible for a carrier of KQ's size.

i would like to know what % of profits KQ contributes to Boeing income. smile

China will overtake USA in GDP in 2025 and will go on to be the worlds richest country by 2050!

For those who can see the future, the time to court China is now...

Economist wrote:
UNTIL 1890 China was the world’s largest economy, before America surpassed it. By the end of 2014 China is on track to reclaim its crown. Comparing economic output is tricky: exchange rates get in the way. Simply converting GDP from renminbi to dollars at market rates may not reflect the true cost of living. Bread and beer may be cheaper in one country than another, for example.

To account for these differences, economists make adjustments based on a comparable basket of goods and services across the globe, so-called purchasing-power parity (PPP). New data released on April 30th from the International Comparison Programme, a part of the UN, calculated the cost of living in 199 countries in 2011. On this basis, China’s PPP exchange rate is now higher than economists had previously estimated using data from the previous survey in 2005: a whopping 20% higher.

So China, which had been forecast to overtake America in 2019 by the IMF, will be crowned the world's pre-eminent country by the end of this year according to The Economist’s calculations. The American Century ends, and the Pacific Century begins.

...looks so so so funny...I think those kinds of drinks should not be branded... Who is the Procurement person at State house? That is free advertising! And looks like they are just straight from Nakumatt shelves...Thought drinks served to our president huwa zimekaguliwa kabisa. What if they are contaminated? This is not right.

The lucozade has been there since Ole Jomo camped at state house. I wonder whether they are donations or the new style. The previous tenant had more of orange juice.

Was sunday nation written by pps. It reads more like the pps news release would. I was hoping H.E would sign off to auction all oour annual tea production, beef, mutton and cotton to china in exchange to what we are giving them. Impressed by the RH premier of the peoples republic for recognizing its not sustainable to carry on with the trade imbalance we have. For all we have given china, we should have been pushing for our tea and coffee as well.
