It does NOT say that KQ will be sold but 49% of the shares may be sold to a foreign investor.
The details are hazy.
Given the complexity of the transaction, unless a lot of the legwork has been done, it is unlikely to close by Oct 2024.

KQ has a new FF program (Asante) so it does seem it is getting ready to get a new partner.

Since KQ needs cash, it is likely that an investor with cash to pump in will be sought i.e. new shares issued vs a sale of existing shares.

The catch is what happens to the massive debt?
Will GoK take it on?

OR will the "Old" KQ still keep it on its books but become a 51% shareholders of "New" KQ?

What about the leased planes? Will New KQ take them over?

What is certain is that the minority shareholders eg @Obiero will have to be content with a "dilution" of their shareholding.

I have been within the discussion rooms in this matter and let me tell you that the Open Offer remains on the table

Operating Profit 1,298
Forex gains 5,394
Finance Costs (6,081)
Interest income 23
PBT 634

Since forex gain can't be replicated each year, that profit is a mirage.

Note also that the debt is significantly depleted by GoK largesse
