if a court can declare the elections null based on a few errors as being purported, that will mean uhuru will continue being president for a very long time, all that is needed after a re-election is just to make sure 20 votes or so zimepotea and pap another re-election.

is there a max number of re-election the sc can call for

NASA seem to be going to court halfheartedly. There is also a veiled intimidation directed towards the court.

I hope they have concrete evidence to back the rigging claim or else they suffer another set back.

3 including today. But court is not an option for him as per Orengo.

DO NOT count on it!

How could you be so right. As Mutahi Nyinyi said, RAO has lied to us, again.

Why do you take every nonsense uttered by Mutahi Ngunyi seriously?

I'm very disappointed with today's presser. It was an anticlimax.

I was expecting at the very least all NASA elected Governors, MPs, Senators, Women Reps and MCAs to denounce their win from the sham election and burn the IEBC certificates issued to them on live tv.

Anyway, may be I have an overactive imagination.

BBI will solve it

The optics of authorities raiding civil society bodies is not good for a government that flaunts democratic credentials.

On the other hand I understand the concern that they are doing the dirty work for NASA, including the widely shared rumour that some of them could be moving to supreme court in proxy for NASA to challenge the presidential elections outcome as declared by IEBC.

My take is that the Govt ought to find a better way to deal with that concern.
It is counterproductive to appear to be persecuting these guys.

Separately, as a Country we should have in place stringent requirements for filing cases with the supreme court challenging presidential election results - e.g deposit Ksh 10m with the court refundable if you win the case.

This would weed out busy bodies in it for nuisance factor.

What if????? What if the courts find there were major irregularities?

What happens then?

Would they order a recount of the already cast votes or would they order a new election?

Would there have to be another election or can the parties organize a Nusu Mkate government to avoid one?

Would the same IEBC that delivered a flawed election be allowed to conduct a new one or would we have to start by forming a new IEBC?

What kind of turnout would we expect from a new election?

There would be MPs, Governors and MCAs in office majority of whom are Jubilee. What are NASA's chances of winning a second election?

If Nasa wins petition, the presidential election will be repeated in 60 days. It will be open to anyone to vie. You can even vie!

The repeat election will be worse for RAO. Nasa was overconfident and convinced their supporters they were winning. With majority of the lower seats going to Jubilee, we're likely to witness voter apathy except in Railaphobic areas

It could end up at 55% Uhuru
