All talk and no work all of you. Why would anyone want to change the system but for those left out of the looting ring? We are wazuans. We should be discussing how to liberate ourselves economically while letting these corrupt leaders save face and still eat a little chicken.
Anything more and they shut us down.

@Mutaga, this is the reason why: When Europeans invaded Africa they applied the 4 basic principles of any occupant forces:

1. First, kill the strong and loot the place

2. Second, breed the weak

3. Third, kill, deport or exile the smartest and the skilled ones

4. Fourth, impose the golden colonial rule "My way or the Highway"

So the Kings and descendants were all killed. Additionally, 3 centuries of transatlantic slavery exported over 12 millions of the finest men and women from Africa to America, tens of millions died in the process.

Now imagine, what would happen to any country or civilization when almost all writers, storytellers, engineers, craftsmen, artists, leaders are killed or exiled? And further, any sign of their past glory and ingenuity destroyed or burned? Their "books" and historical records of knowledge stolen or destroyed?

That Caucasian friend of yours knows this. And he takes you for a fool for not knowing your history. But how would you know?

Oh yes, let's blame everyone and everything except ourselves. What scientific method did they use to breed weak ones like us and kill off the smart ones? Even the Romans did the same to the English a few centuries after Christ and that is why the weak ones had brexit.

Africa is poor because:
1.We lack discipline to create wealth.
2.We manage our resources poorly.

An article by Galgalo Bocha in the Business Daily Posted Thursday, December 29 2016

Link:

Extracts:

Quote:
For the third day consecutively, thousands of Jambo Jet passengers Thursday continued to experience delays and cancellation of their flights to various holiday destinations in the Coast region.

Kenya Coast Tourism Association (KCTA) chairman Mohammed Hersi said the situation had seriously affected the high expectation of hoteliers during this festive season.

He wondered why the domestic airline, owned by Kenya Airways, had resorted to overbook passengers beyond its capacity, hence inconveniencing their visit and stay in various hotels.

He adds: “Why don’t you just sell what you can handle instead of giving a false promise of landing in Ukunda or Malindi only to land in Mombasa?

In business, this is deception and it creates a terrible negative vibe besides some passengers may opt to sue you.

Please we want you to focus on flying rather than fighting cases.

The situation has affected tourism businesses in the South Coast tourist resort areas of Diani and Ukunda and Mombasa, Malindi and Lamu in North Coast.

historically the west embraced education from the greek and those advanced ancient culters while in africa they were busy talking about passing down oral traditions and customs and practicing wiered culters.in africa no initiative was made by the kings/queens to send their sons to europe and US to learn education that they could use to develop their land.

Dear @Cornelius there is a curse called bamboocha that was littered along the four corners of Africa. We need to pray in order to overcome it. How else would you explain engineers who build collapsing structures, journalists who take bribes to publish stories, contractors who illegally demolish titled property, public servants who steal funds meant for societal good

I was reading the end of year statements from UK and RAO and yes i can understand why we are poor. Choose your poison whichever works for you.

UK's vision statement. Try to forget the fact he is developing this vision at the end of his term in office. Is that our leaders right from our paramount chiefs meeting the white man are not able to see the changing trends in the world and adapt accordingly. In a world that is fast moving to a post-industrial phase our leader's vision looks kinda medieval.

Change does not come overnight, especially when we are digging ourselves out of the immense poverty, ignorance and conflict that came from almost a century of colonial oppression and centuries of the damaging legacy of slavery. Let me tell you what I see in my mind’s eye whenever I think of what we are trying to build

A Kenya that is industrialized and where a decent job is available to anyone qualified and seeking it. We will be a Kenya whose people have the education to innovate, invent and deliver world class goods and services. We shall sustain our economic growth so that we shall rise into Africa’s leading destination for investment in manufacturing, logistics, tourism and education. We will be secure and an anchor for stability in a region that will have overcome its destructive conflicts.

RAO on the other hand is talking like a union leader complaining about company management but with no clear alternative policies or competing vision on how to plan for a post-industrial society.

A clean, competent, caring, accountable, inclusive and honest government. That is what Kenyans have missed these past four years.Other than exams management, it is difficult to pinpoint 2016 successes with real impact on Kenyans.Communities got excluded from government because they were viewed as enemies who would disrupt the eating. There is a glaring absence of well thought-out policy interventions to deal with emerging issues.

Why is Africa poor;

1. Before coloialism, we did not have a system of governance beyond the village level, contrast this with Asia whose civilization are the oldest in the world or Americas where the europeans settled and transplanted their civilisations
2. We don't know any better, we have been poor all along and we don't know how to harness and amas wealth or the benefits that come with it. Its like Kyuks in central who have seen the benefits of wealth compared to the rest of Kenyans who have no clue
3. We are made up of many tiny disorganised weak countries that basically lack leverage required to compete with the rest of the world.
"The purpose of bureaucracy is to compensate for incompetence and lack of discipline." James Collins
