I am ambivalent about this ....on one hand I feel as if the authorities are taking us up the garden path, giving assurances where none exist, there were slips in strategy, command and the situation is dire; on the other hand may be this is propaganda to confuse Shabaab, no need to give them ammunition to fan media fires ....in addition I find myself hoping that some were captured alive and sharp extrajudicial interrogation and justice can be dropped on their heads without the misguided human rights busybodies poking their noses. We shall never know.
The post-mortem of this needs to be investigated very seriously indeed. The people who were bribed and released this Samantha Lewthwaite should be thrown in prison.

Obama now addressing United Nations General Assembly (BBC) has encouraged the victims to have the strength and wished us well. He has been more concerned and inspirational than our leaders...

Uhuru is doing great, Obama is just wishing Kenya Well, Uhuru has to deal with the stress and pressure that come with this so let's not compare the two.

@Magigi, lets not use the work "leaders" wrongly. We have seen an excellent display of leadership by first repsonders, security forces, Kenya Red Cross, patriotic kenyans who have provided meals and water to the rescue team at Westgate, blood donors etc. Those are the real leaders.

@Am, I would fire every cop who took a bribe.

How would you know they have taken a bribe?
Remember you are the IG and your are human and not omnipresent and you are dealing with ten of thousands of cops at different levels in the whole country with more than 75% (my estimation) ready to receive or asking for bribes.

Because stuff like WastegatE happens..
You Establish day when lapses happened even if it is a span of a week and fire them all, without pension. Then make sure it is quoted in every police station in Kenya.

We can start with the date the white widow checked in from Lunga Lunga..
