This weekend there are strong warnings on Nairobi and Coast from credible sources. Shopping malls, national tourist sites, government functionaries and churches. Govt obviously doing what it can to prevent any further loss of life. Exercise maximum caution.

We are really good at this kind of P.R gimmicks. Security will be enhanced for the next week or a month maximum. After that, we will be back to our old ways. Closing the barn door once horses leave does not change the fact that they left in the first place.

Garissa TTC had good intel and acted in time. Why the University College did not take it seriously is very unfortunate

so could this be terrorism on hire by some named individuals on the EACC report to divert attention? Could it have been organized in order to accomplish certain agreements (read Kasin's visit in July). Just throwing random thoughts out there.

You people tried this gimmick last time and it failed. It is a failure on the part of our security agents period. Do not try to blame external forces.

the new IG must be drippin a cold sweat.. Ole Lenku has been vindicated. The problem is corruption at our border points, at the registries

You can imagine the bashing Nkaisery would have given Ole Lenku had this happened under Lenku's watch. Anyway, in my opinion, this is all a result of corruption... Sad

Oooh yes and this thing is going to bring Kenya down. Look every where from the top to the bottom. The small fellows have seen nothing is happening to the big fellows so every one for himself and God for us all.

I think we now need to have police posts in our institutions. Like it is in the US
A general solution will not be effective in this kind of threat. These terrorists have time on their side, even if you had Police posts, they will spend months studying targets to pick soft spots. Plus if Kiganjo is like our other institutions, then the curriculum used to train Police is not update with the times. Chances are that the tutors concentrate on strategies against traditional crimes. In times like this, you cannot rely on government to give solutions, since what is required is some very radical change starting from training and resourcing and deployment of police. Due to beuracracy, it would take upto ten yrs for government to catch up. In the short and medium term, Institutions should go for private solutions to complement govt

I agree the curriculum at Kiganjo needs to be re-modeled and that goes for the caliber of graduates too..The D material can no longer be trusted with a policemans job

so you reckon the A material will do a better job, look at them in parliament, heading parastatals - look at them behind their keyboards blaming the D material.
