Two things:
1. The public still needs some sensitization. Crowd reaction on site is just more casualties waiting to happen whilst the first aid handling of victims could be a lot better.

2. The conversations of the shocked public is xenophobic.

That said, it is not entirely unexpected that the attacks would ratchet up once operations to flush out illegal immigrants began. We need to move fast and make the perceived "aggressive" community part of the solution for faster information gathering as technologically we are far from capable in containing the existing presence of enemies and weapons already on our soil.

Ditto

But if you have leaders like Duale representing the perceived "aggressive" communities then xenophobic speech and attacks are bound to occur

He should have immediately been replaced as Leader of Majority for that callous statement with another member from the aggrieved/aggressive community.

That video is too much. Sadly the discussions on this thread are as predictable as the user handles. But kudos to @washiku and others who are keeping the discussion sober.

My biggest dissappointment is @murchr. From his previous postings, one can tell he is a high ranking insider in the jubilee govt. Now he is throwing the blame for the attacks back to the citizens.

Like someone said, the govt can divide the security budget amongst the citizens, kila MTU apewe budget yake ajisort.

Before KDF invasion in 2011 the only attack still in Kenyans minds was the 1998 Embassy bombing which was carried out against USA on American soil!

When Kenya opted out of the Ethiopian led invasion, the Shabaab by passed Kenya and attacked the very secure Uganda!

2 tourists get kidnapped by God knows who and we react by invading Somalia as if forgetting all the reasons we didnt invade in the first place!

Now people are scrambling for reasons why Kenyans are dying!

All the corruption, porous borders, illegal aliens, incompetence, and lack of public co operation were all there and alive before 2011 but the fact was I did not have to worry about being blown up in a Matatu on my way to town Sad

Pray Pray Pray

The video is shocking, definitely not for the faint hearted. We need an emergency response unit set up in Nairobi with enough ambulances and fire fighting equipment. does anyone know how long it took for the first ambulance to reach the scene?

Maybe Uhuru is overwhelmed. Maybe the guys surrounding him are not telling him the truth. Let him call us for a forum and put the security issue to a discussion, then we shall tell him where we think we have gone wrong. Like reminding him that when launching the million acre project at North Eastern he told his CSes that they must deliver or face the sack because one year is enough to familiarise with how things work.

It's almost game over for these terrorists. Attack on Thika rd is just too close to UK's heart and since this guy is like his father, he will stop at nothing.

BBI will solve it

Is there a country/president in the world which or who has won in the war against terror? Some of think Israel is a paragon but consider how much the country has facilitated the growth of militants across the world. America? Witness the growth of militia across this country, the destabilization of states and even the sponsorship of these terror groups like in Syria or Libya. Russia? Which country is successful? None!

So let's not egg our president and selves into destruction courtesy of simplistic thinking.
