If u have idle cash in the short term, TB investment stil remains as a better investment option and more so if ur bank is not willing to negotiate higher rates 4 th same. NSE stil n will continue 2 remain unattractive until post election BUT MOSTLY when th eurozone crises is resolved

KE inflation forecast by an SA bank - they expect inflation rate at single digits by Q3:2012. Let's see how it plays out as 2012 unfolds...

I expect inflation to remain in double digits in 2012.

March-May rains maybe on the light side. Oil is under pressure from the Iran thingy. I also expect general election related money supply... I however have a bet with somebody that the inflation will be "adjusted" again. Downward ofcourse

BD had an article about IMF having 'issues' with the current inflation model. The same IMF that recommended a change (fudging of the model) back in Feb 2010 is now saying that their recommendation was not good enough. Absolute horse sh**

I too expect the inflation model to be 'tweaked' yet again to hide the KES devaluation as money has to be printed to fund the elections.

Inflation at single digits this year even if it rains from today till 31/12/2012 can only be achieved by fudging the inflation model again.

Its not end of March yet, a week is an eternity in the stock market. Anyhow, Bank of America is now trading at $9.85, I forget how much it was trading at at that time, I think thats when it was sub $5 right?? Anyways it has given me great capital gains yet we are only getting started. I sold of my stake in Moneygram and instead bought Fannie Freddie. Eastman Kodak is trading OTC, not much action expected from it until after the lawsuits are settled. On the other hand, how are the Treasury bills' rates? I dont hear much chest thumping anymore so im guessing the rates adjusted downwards?
