Can anybody help me understand what is happening with EABL. Want to buy at 206/- but have a feeling I may be able to get at 200/- or less if I can wait a bit. Thought opening of Southern Sudan and TZ deal (long term effects) should neutralize alcohol rules (short term effect)!

EABL will have an uphill task as SAB Miller has a prescence in Southern Sudan, they have a plant with a capacity of producing 50,000 lts a day. I think EABL is in trouble coz of situations in TZ & UG too....

@AMOLO, am sorry brother from what happened. You are not alone, i know some people who bought like you in a bull and have not been able to sell until now. For new guys don't listen to this buy...buy...buy... on a bull. The lesson learned is; buying in a bull is like committing suicide. I can attest that the urge to buy is high when you see the stocks rising but there is need for vigilance. I have consolidated all i have in kplc over the last year. I don't believe in diversification as long as you know what you are doing, as gains in one stock are more often than not eaten by losses in another one. As me buying now, see you in the next bear, as it shall surely come.

Dear eric aka @qw:

Did you promise us beers if KPLC was over-subscribed?
Well, if you did, it is time to pay EABL...

Asante,

yesterday AccessKenya retreated 2.97% to close at 14.70...traded a 14.20-15.15 range and 46,900 shares despite having been on quite a ride. It touched 12.75 a 52 week low on 22nd December [post the Profits Warning] and then rallied 26.274% through 6th Jan 2011 to
close at 16.10. to ask people to buy now is to ask them to buy from profit takers!!!
Anyway, it has posted a -25.222% 1 Year Return.

Fellows like you..and i..who bought at the 13bob range are the ones selling now..and to ask people to keep buying albeit supply increasingly outstripping demand is surely not right.

Are you seriously trying to convince us that the further down it slips the longer you hold on and the more you buy? albeit being +20% on the green currently? plus knowing full well the eventuality of the profit warning for year just ended? MR QW... YOU LIE!!!

ps..this is coming to haunt the counter in some 10 weeks or so bytheway... smile

@ qw i think i have touched a raw nerve hear. First, the fact that my thoughts are different from yours cannot be justified by quotes from Warren or Graham. It's a fallacy. Or else explain the profit margin you would make by buying a stock when nse is at 5000 points and selling when nse index reads 3000 points. Let those who have ears hear: buying stocks on a bull, is like sailing in turbulent waters, you can easily sink while you didn't have to.

it's all a question of demand vs supply. For kplc supply is about nine times the demand, equity the supply is too much. It's a buyers market for the two at the moment. I expect the same to pull down their prices until possible correction tommorrow.
