If i gave you/a policeman an ATM machine and a whole week to open it without blowing up the money inside you would not succeed.

In the two paragraphs above, you contradict yourself without doubt.....but let me play dumb and ask.If the army are trained to break into ATM machines/Safes,which an ordinary thug, terrorist or a harmless idiot like myself will take more than a week to break, why then did the soldiers break into the ATMs/Safes in the first place?.I would think the better thing to do was to leave them standing, intact and guard them.Maybe there is something i don't get.

Beyond this,it's all there to see.The army screwed where RECCE would have sufficed and the fact that they were seen walking out with paper bags, clouds anything good they did and that alone constitutes criminal offence and those responsible should be held to account. If there was money and valuables they kept in custody for WG investors,i would want to think that there are accountable procedures of doing the same.Transfering cash or valuables in paperbags by individual soldiers is definitely not one of them.

If KDF wants to salvage it's image, admitting their mistakes and taking action against those responsible will help restore confidence.Using a bunch of poor dirty Mpigs as their PR will only erode what little has been left....In the meantime, i would have expected Lenku ,Karangi and Omamo to take responsibility and leave honourably, failure to which The PORK should borrow their heads without fail.Anything short of that will be disaster for UMK's young leadership.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

I agree with you save for the call for Omamo's resignation as to the best of my knowledge her position is powerless, she cannot even sack a kurutu let alone investigate any KDF,same to Ole Lenku.

Our mboys were thirsty and had to quench their thirst with a few bottles of water. Surely did we expect them to go to the toilets to drink water from the wash basins? And anyway there were no cashiers at the check off counter to pay to.

Surely if you were attacked by thugs, and neighbours came to your aid, the fact that the some jiranis drink a few glasses of water from your tap would be your LEAST worry. You would only be worried if the jiranis took your flat screen telly on their way out. Similarly we would have been worried if the KDF started loading the Ksh 3m Samsung TVs, home theatres, iphones, fridges, leather seats etc into their lorries.

Fire/Explosion? These things are in their manuals, save the most valuable items even expensive paintings they are supposed to remove if they were any, hiyo ndio kazi yao exactly how they did it! They will be issuing their statement today, we can return here after and see.... the question you nshould be asking is "how did they manage to open the ATM's"?

Problem is, that's not all they took. I saw Atul Shah being interviewed on CNN by Nic Robertson yesterday. He clearly stated their cash tills had been forcefully pried open. And recall in the video, the soldier who disappeared into some shelves just near the door? Well, that was their money exchange booth.

One of the eating places has two interesting scenes on video: soldiers stealing from their till and volunteers taking food on display.

I'm sure it will leak.

Let them give their statement/press conference and then the video can hit our screens.

KDF should get us the CCTV footage of the area that water was stored for the water story to make sense.
