This taxation law is poorly worded. You obviously know very well KK will point to the lack of capital gains taxes transactions involving listed company shares, seek clarity on which law supercedes the other and cite BBK as a precedent. I think the ambiguity is deliberate to extort some bribes from KK but otherwise the legislation was targeted at exploration companies to avoid the Tullow - Heritage scenario in Uganda.

Warren Buffett: Only buy something that you'd be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.Graham, a British-born economist and former Columbia professor who died in 1976, is considered the creator of value investing. Warren Buffett said Graham's book, "The Intelligent Investor," "changed my life." Graham focused on the importance of buying underpriced stocks. Buffett embraced that idea but took it a step further -- focusing on buying "wonderful companies at wonderful prices" and holding on to them rather than simply buying any company that appeared to be a bargain. Oil marketers in Kenya/Africa are constantly battling Price controls, ERC, KPC, vulnerable currency, hopeless margins etc etc What makes KK so wonderful?? didn't shell and chevron know what they were doing when they exited this business?? When it slid to 12.60 last week the devil tempted me to buy but i overcome the temptation, even at 9bob iam scared by historical poor perfomance and pullouts by kenyan oil companies, and worse still during this price control error. The timing of the cancellation of this deal is suspect. Call me paranoid but i will be checking the accounts to see if any of the major shareholders esp the ones that go by the names like "Barclays Bank Nominees a/c no xxxx" sold during the deal fiasco. I have an haunch that someone sold to raise money for campaigns, and the haunch just wont go away. Life is short. Live passionately.

Lining up my cash next week as I try and get some bargains. Kk top of my list, patience timing. Then pulling the trigger. Feels good to have a potential buying opportunity again after so long The investor's chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself
