@kadonye, its a poor attempt to bully opinions contrary to theirs. ati Raila jana was asking if Church members were consulted. Religion is not a DEMOCRACY!!!

Please see what Masukuma quoted FROM THE DRAFT: "Abortion is not permitted unless, in the opinion of a trained health professional, there is need for emergency treatment, or the life or health of the mother is in danger, or if permitted by any other written law."

The Abortion Law has been discussed far and wide. I tend to lean on the side that says that the Abortion Law in the Draft is loosely wrapped.

It should be more tightly written. For example, here below is part of the English Translation of §218 ff., published by the Federal Ministry of Justice in cooperation with a federally-controlled commercial legal information provider.

"(2) The termination of pregnancy performed by a physician with the consent of the pregnant woman shall not be unlawful if, considering the present and future living conditions of the pregnant woman, the termination of the pregnancy is medically necessary to avert a danger to the life or the danger of grave injury to the physical or mental health of the pregnant woman and if the danger cannot reasonably be averted in another way from her point of view."

IMHO, that is the way it should be written. And then we shall have less noise about it. smile

Masukuma..

The question is..is/did the church leadership consulting the 'sheep' or since they figured out theyve been too ignored decided to seat go through the draft, with their own lawyers who have their fixed interpretations... then decide to ram it down out throats..

why should i read it and see nothing wrong and then for my spiritual father or leader to read the same and advice me otherwise..simply because he'll threaten me with plagues and such like..

unless he has a direct line from above, diff from mine... or knows something i dont..i wont allow it!!!

@Poundfoolish, how strong is your relationship with the Church leaders that you make it appear like they have decreed how you must vote? Speaking for myself, I have a strong relationship with my church leaders that when they speak, not just on Sunday when I attend church, I take their views very seriously.

They are men.. and have no faith in mortal men..
since that curtain was split into two 2000yrs ago.. we can as well pop in and present our queries and petitions..

Im yet to get a stronger conviction on voting otherwise..
Rt.. ArchBishop Gitari, has a different view which is similar to mine..

The SDA's and JW's are silent...WHY???

Poundfoolish, precisely- you have a pick on who you want to take seriously, if you must. Wouldn't it be strange if all christian leaders were to agree, factoring in the different shades, not least the Finger of God?

@poundfoolish, matters of abortion and propagation of the islamic agenda via a constitution is not a church project like location of a church building. do you think that decision to oppose the draft was taken lightly?
I don't know what the CoE was thinking ati Kadhi's courts are not contentious!! how come we are having such passionate discussions over this matter? 117 posts of wazua and daily coverage. Or did the meaning of contentious change?

If the Sultan of Zanzibar had the propagation of Islamic agendas way back in 1960's and giving up a coastal strip as bait...

then we are doomed.. we were outdone long before missionaries stepped foot..

i rest my case..

Wazua..

With the crackdown on hate speech being whispered... would the topic of this thread..esp ".....Go to Hell" be considered 'hate speech'?
