Only way forward was to dig up canals. Hence, you find all major cities have artificial canals. These are not natural rivers. They were also very carefully designed and you will never hear of flooding in those cities. If it was today, they would never build them coz they dont need them as much. So do you want us to convert our city rivers into canals just becoz europe has them?

If you want such sponsor your MP to pass laws that provide for such environmental aesthetics and it shall be supported. Look again and see the rivers are not blocked.
No one profits from damaged roads caused by floods. Add the inconvenience caused when the river floods. Only Nakumatt profits when they claim goods were destroyed in floods. They swindle insurance companies plus the tax payer. "too hard to legitimize crime" - who is doing this... I am well aware of what people have defined as "crimes"... it's all man-made... the same people have defined "punishments" for these "crimes" and it's fine... what I am saying is that -WHY DON'T YOU PUNISH WITHOUT WASTE? that's my question. Kenya is a poor country! this step makes it poorer not richer. Perhaps it's a way that people are pulled down so that we are happy in all our misery but mark my words - this is a step backwards not because people were punished but because of WASTE! What makes us poorer is impunity. People being let go after committing crimes without consequences. What benefits do we get if a road gets repaired every year because of floods? We have lost so much since 2004 when that one building was constructed. Why didn't he consider investing in another area? Have you thought about the cost of flooding? Beginning with the time wasted plus the cars/property we see floating and destroyed? This man has already recouped his investment since it was acquired shoddily in the first place. He needs to stop inviniencing every one else "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

You are talking now my Dear President. Do not back down, do not stop, don't even slow down. Know that 99.9% of Kenyans are right behind you. Do not mind about losing a few so called friends. You are already making friends in droves. If the so called friends voted for you so you may protect them, call them at your Park (Uhuru Park) and show them the middle finger. It's about the country you swore to protect, it's about the good of everyone, it's about your legacy. Be very mean and selfish. @masukuma, today, you are sounding so stupid. You're always a voice of sense, but what you are justifying regarding these illegal structures is below your intelligence. Yes, we all know they have titles and were approved. But these are fake titles and approvals which were acquired through bribery.

Sense and intelligence are thrown out when you are on the other side. ....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..
