This is a very interesting thread, I dont have a kid and I am no doctor, but could nt help note the vitamin A supplements debate. In the UK all kids under 5 are supplemented with vitamins A, C and D. Most of the foods are supplemented with vitamins but they still give their kids these vitamin supplements. So the arrogant doctor owes BS and all Wazuans an apology.

@Tony stark Pubmed is an index for many peer reviewed journals, do you mind sharing the journal that published you? I only ask because you seem to regard your accomplishments very highly.

ION @Mukiha I always like your take on issues, do you by any chance run a blog? I enjoy the blog by Obbo (nakedchiefs.com) and suppose that if you had a similar one I would be your number 1 fan

Colds are viral. it therefore follows that antibiotics are ineffective.

#6 In which countries is Augmentin banned? The list of excipients in the drug are: magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycollate, colloidal silica, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide (E171), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol and silicone oil. Where do you get your information?

If u are patient then wait until he grows older (kindu) 5 years) then its free in most good public hospitals.
You can put the 30K in a fixed savings account for his future school fee, or buy some cheap shares currently on offer at NSE.

2-dime advice!

A friend has his one year old child circumcised in a public hospital a while back. The doctor doing the operation was also the one looking at the machines which check the vitals (I am no doctor). My friend tells me the machines began beeping and the Doctor jumped like someone had placed hot coals in his pants. They managed to get the machines to calm down but it was one major scare for my friend. The Doctor later explained he had informed the hosi to set up the theatre and get an anesthetist but they did not. He still chose to go ahead with this 'minor surgery' nonetheless.

I still recall the case of 'whispers' who died after a very minor surgery at Thika district hospital. If you can afford it, please get it done in a mission hospital. It will not cost you an arm and a leg and they at least observe the basics.

You can imagine if the pants were to be made from fire retardant material, the balls would be roasted kama za mbuzi.
