@kwanini. hang on there dude and you will. Do not Just work hard, Play smart. And Pray hard.Believe. A Combination of all bring about success. But remember that satisfaction and happiness is the Most crucial thing. It is Paramount. Some of the Millionaires you see around have heavy Burdens you wud rather not carry yourself. Why be a millionaire and have Poor health? Why be a Millionaire and have ountless court cases?

I think people need to read biographies of rich people. I am currently reading the book 'Money Masters of our times' by John Train. I think Buffet is the happiest man in the world because he does not wallow in the consumerism of the typical billionaire. He has not let money affect him for money cannot buy you happiness. Happiness is a state of mind and you dont have to live in Runda to be happy. I am trying to emulate him. I have stayed with the same Nokia phone (slightly above the kabambe) for the last two years. I make a million ksh every month.

Ditto, conspicuous consumption is the bane of our times. I appreciate a simple life and often times, my friends and colleagues do not appreciate why I choose to live where I live for instance but hey, that's life I guess.

Is it possible for one to be rich (millionaire with respect to our thread) but broke?

In 1957, Buffett had three partnerships operating the entire year. He purchased a
five-bedroom stucco house in Omaha, where he still lives, for $31,500

Money is a medium of exchange and a measure of value. This maasais are stinking rich. Those who own large tracts of land are also rich. There is a point that kiyosaki was trying to make. You dont buy a car to store value but its a consumption or for personal use. Although afamily house is an asset I do not think its open for disposal, eg to pay college fees for the kids. To consider yourself a millionaire me thinks you should only add those assets that you hold for the purpose of storing value as opposed to those held for living(clothes, cars, family house etc). Less any debts.

We should differentiate between being rich and wealthy.Maasai's are not rich but wealthy....You can be rich(have 2 million in an account) but not wealth.

In my understanding being rich is when you have money than is not generating money/value.

Being wealthy is having money/properties than generate value/money(either on paper or in cash)

I think its time I contributed to this thread. My age is 22. On long holiday. Third year university student. Made my first million last week through academic writing in a span of three months. Hired several classmates as writers and paid them 200 bob per page while I earn 10 dollars for each page. Will go on until the party stops. Problem now is investing the money passively to get monthly returns AWAY FROM ACADEMIC WRITING

I beg to differ. Money can buy you anything including happiness. It's only people with no money that say that money can't buy you happiness.....it can. Having money is a good thing. My opinion. I don't know of anybody that is not looking for money and would not like to have money.....you sound dubious, i will take your assertion that you make a million a month with a grain of salt. I can smell BS from a thousand miles away. If money can't buy you happiness then you are not making enough money. I have found a lot of happiness and a good life making lots of money.... If and when i get kids, i will advice them to make as much money as possible so as to have a good life.

Forget that BS that money is not good, money is great, it makes lives so so so much easier and people a whole lot happier. But maybe that's just me, i might be a different breed from you and everybody else that doesn't derive happiness in money, but i won't apologize or front that i don't find happiness from having money. I do. I keep things real, so To each their own. Why have a kabambe when you "claim" to make a million a month? What's the point of making that money if you can't enjoy it?

Don't compare your life to Buffet's. The guy might not flash money around but i have been to Omaha and the old geezer does live a charmed life. Dines in the best restaurants, travels by private planes, has his kids set up for life, so don't think mr. Buffet is not enjoying his money, he is, just not as extravagantly as some of the other billionaires.

Having enough is not a bad thing. I wish i was making as much like you and i will be the happiest man earth. Knowing i can afford to live anywhere i want, travel, holidaying in exotic plces and taking kids to good schools is something that will make me happy everyday and unfortunately all depends on money.

Well as Alicia put it ;

Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame
Some people live for the power
Some people live just to play the game
Some people think that the physical things define what's within
And I've been there before but that life's a bore, so full of the superficial
