KQ will now lease a plane(s) from ALS for the Mogadishu route... Double daily.

Very good strategic move once again from Mikosz. Q300 or which type?

What about Bujumbura?

I guess the arrangement with ALS is just temporary. I predict that KQ might have to lease new Q400 with a C-class cabin to serve these regional routes. It will be very hard for some govts/ passengers to accept all economy configuration.

I have flown on Jambojet several times with Senators and Governors here, in a relatively much advanced country.. The Buja crowd needs to get serious. They either form an airline or deal with what is available for them..

If you want to do business with them, comply with whatever they ask.

All govts around the world have such demands which to us seems petty.

I would understand if it was Washington or Beijing even Lagos or Joburg, but Bujumbura!!!! Comment alles vous. Je tre bien. Es travails!!!

That's not how aviation works my good online buddy. Seat configuration aside.. An engine bsed aircraft initial costing, maintenance etc is very different from a turbo prop.. The route serves both the big bellied men as well as common man in a ratio I would put at 1:35; makes no sense to continue serving the route with an Embraer. Kigali could deserve a KQ, and UG already established its worth for KQ, but Buja wapewe JJ

@Obiero Burundi is just saying they like their VIPs to travel in style. Since they don't have their own airliner, they would like KQ/JJ to do the honors.

As I see it, KQ can even maintain a plane, ready with crew on tarmac for Burundi Gov as long as they pay for it.

Why can't JJ configure 1 or 2 planes as Bujumbura wants and ask the Bujumbura Government to pay for any seats not taken on the route.

Alternatively, Burundi can establish their own airline and wet lease one or two planes from KQ.

"Alternatively, Burundi can establish their own airline and wet lease one or two planes from KQ." I hope you don't imagine that KQ has any excess aircraft to engage in such a scenario

Flavio used his private jet due to transit issues via Milan but his girl Naomi Campbell chose to get here via the Pride of Africa. Much needed neutralizer to the sad Silvano incident

What's wrong with KQ helping Air Burundi out of dormancy?
