This ties in perfectly with the JFK route, high risk high returns. If KQ doesn't turn a profit by H1 2019, I will sell at whatever prevailing price.. Mungu mbele

Which profit? Net???

Yes. We already saw the KQ operating profit recently.. So right now it's all about the bottom line. With the recent moves in Cape Town, Mauritius, Gabon, USA and now Somalia, the revenues can only face one way as there are now only two serious African carriers

Costs are off the roof... Hapa hakuna net profit in the foreseeable future... Maybe 2023.

KQ will rue the day that Ngunze sold off the prime slots slots at LHR.

Kenya's #1 export market.
Kenya's top 3 tourism source market.
Lots of diasporans in the London area.
LHR has excellent connections to North America and Europe. It rivals AMS and CDG.

Desperate times called for desperate measures.. He sold it at an unprecedented tidy sum in KQs favor. For now KLM hosts us https://www.businesstrav...-its-only-heathrow-slot/

You lie at such a late hour? How ungodly! KQ costs have been on a quarter to quarter decline over the last 5 years and USA launch had to eat up some cash.. Nothing is free in this world, KQ is renting office space in 1835 Broadway suite 604 as its sales office. In the middle of New York city, of course it's expensive! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Spend money to make money

"News has emerged that it was Kenya Airways who sold Oman Air its prized early morning slot at London Heathrow." >>> Of the $75mn from Oman Air, Ngunze paid himself $2mn over the next 2 years!

It was a pay package.. There was a board of directors who could have rescinded but they saw it fit. Who are we to deny a man his salary

That team was just looking for what to sell next, they would have sold even our own @maka by now.

How would that be a bad thing? KQ have introduced a Brand Warrior reward program for each staff that gets clients to fly with KQ but @maka instead keeps reminiscent of the dropped Buddy Pass.. I know @maka is a gentleman thus I wish him well but you can tell that a clique of workers at KQ are against KQs turnaround, which makes it difficult for top management to deliver. Very similar to what happened to Mourinho at his last Chelsea season
