I look at the big picture. Al Jazeera is not operating in a vacuum. Neither are the individuals supporting Al Jazeera machines working in a vacuum without emotion or even a personal, political even religious agenda. Also Al Jazeera is not the paragon of unselfish love that they will not seek to advance any, some or even all of their agendas on Kenians or anyone for that matter.
Al Jazeera is state media - for a state where the religious is the overriding, over arching, pervasive influence. For a religion that aims at advancing its cause and numbers the world over. A state that is one of the closest political and military allies of USA. (Take those theatrics of Republicans Tea Party for what they are - theatrics, and with a pinch of salt and spice). I do not watch Al Jazeera. But people who might affect my life and my relative's lives do.
What interest has Al Jazeera, Qataris, have in Kenyan death squads were it not for a common factor of a religion?
If Al Jazeera's intent is not to depict a certain (religious) class of people as being oppressed by their government - a necessary ingredient for 'change' (whatever that eventually would be) in which Qataris can happily support with clean clear consciences as informed by Islam and Mohammed (PBUH), - then the world is upside down.
Remember the over arching influence. The prevention of Al Jazeera broadcasting has its merits.
Muriel I hope you are not surprised. I do agree with you. I said above, every media outlet has an agenda. As you watch CNN and Wolf Blitzer, please wear your Jewish goggles. Media has prejudice and that can't be debated. But it is plain wrong for anyone to give up his rights to free expression and media rights just in order to spite a media company. Don't ever forget, once a law like the one proposed becomes effective, you may be very surprised to find yourself voting for Alphdoti for president 10yrs from now. I agree with your analysis I wholeheartedly disagree with your medication. Jose: If I make it through this thug life, I'll see you one day. The Lord is the only way to stop the hurt.

I agree with your analysis I wholeheartedly disagree with your medication. What's wrong with my logic? My medication is the direct and express product of my analysis. Is my logic faulty? Just tell me. I also read Rahatupu input about the convergence, agreement, harmony and unity of the resultant emotion that might probably arise within the chests of some of the viewers of this expose and the claim as put forth by Al Shabab - that there is a higher calling to their agitation, they are fighting oppression. Lest I be seen as having something for the death squads I have nothing for them. My interest in this matter is purely for the elephant in the room - religion. PS, If I ever were to vote for Alphdoti, I would write on that ballot "Guru267". But why would Alphdoti be on the ballot for president? What's he doing there?

'al Jazeera should be banned from Kenya because their reports are untrue and are likely to aid the enemy'. Is this the logic?

You are thinking much too narrowly. Too local. And the quality of the report is not my focus as much as the effect of the report. Think bigger. Think worldwide. Think subtle. Think smart.

On this, we must think local. after all, the request is not for Al Jazeera to be banned worldwide, its for them to be banned in Kenya... and the only considerations should be the effect of their report on Kenya.

Security laws amendmend bill 2014Proposed amendments to security related legislationSome of the good and bad proposals, we just need to find a balance, otherwise I find 70% of the proposals to be long overdue -Increase detention period of suspects from 90 days to 360 days -Remove technicalities in admission of relevant evidence -Make it mandatory for the NPS Commission to delegate specified functions to the IGP -Require security bond before grant of passport in some cases -Consider in the long term giving Kenyan courts primary jurisdiction to try Kenyan Citizens as opposed to extraditing them -Limit the number of workers/expatriates that an investor can bring from outside Kenya and give preference to locally available skills -Require employment agencies to get government approval prior to sending Kenyan citizens abroad -Review the Public Order Act with a view of limiting the right to picket and ensure that it complies with Article 24 of the Constitution -Amend the Act to give the relevant Cabinet Secretary the power to set aside special areas and time where all demonstrations and picketing would take place -Revise and update the Schedule of Protected areas to include all sensitive government installations and facilities -prohibit prison officers from undertaking industrial action. -Require hotels to allow police access to premises -Develop Patriotic Bill that will rein in on individuals and especially government officials whose actions compromise national security If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

Very strange place indeed. Work up the mob, tell them we are killing terrorists, then use the same laws on them. At least during Moi's time all I was forced to do was sing baaaba on Sundays and when he passed through our school. Alphdoti, take my position on wazua. Don't comment anything negative about this gov't, a new law shall be created. That law is perfect That law is what we call a draconian law that has no merit You just can't create a law for fun But since there's a section on it mentioning social media, I will defer from ever commenting on wazua on such matters. Incase I'm also labeled a terrorist, terrorist sympathiser then I have the whole of wazua "i supporting" after seeing the big gun that I was "exchanging fire" with. Do some people realise we are in 2014 and you can't turn the clock back to Moi? Let me join Impunity with the naked women. Yes, it is 2014. You should have realised that it is a Bill and instead of crapping in your pants you have the Courts and the Constitution for redress. Did I touch a nerve? Let me touch another That law is the most stupid law this side of the equator. I know its very cool in some groups to call Jicho Pevu a terrorist, but you just don't create a law to catch 1 man. The current story is that Al Jazeera is funded by Al-Shabaab. Sounds exactly like what George Bush and his lunatic Tea Party were saying before. The gov't cannot control everything. This gov't wants to control everything. The executive, the legislature, the judiciary, the media and even social media. The we have the usual suspects clapping as the emperor walks down the street naked. Now brand me. Now after all the kelele, what useful suggestion have you made? and who told you these laws are targeting 'Moha', a nobody like alma or are only applicable to Kenya in fighting terror? I'm glad you asked for my opinion.. I suggest you stop wasting time on wazua conducting group surveys with fake user names only to come later and create laws based on the post and threads. I also suggest you stop wasting time with alma. I'm still under the influence of faux. But since we are talking about doing crazy things like Faux, I suggest the following for the next survey. 1. Ban the journalist in the Al-Jazeera movie. Never give the guy a visa again 2. Ban Al-Jazeera. Kenya shall be joining the league of great nations such as Egypt, Bahrain etc. 3. Ban tweeter....This is the conduit of negative PR too 4. Create a brain wave machine that will make people believe every press statement that comes from the gov't. We can borrow from the movie Terminator or something I hope the suggestions are on point. @alma, you nailed it! By the way there are very, very few honest people around, especially from the Mountain! I can say that you @alma is one of the straight-forward people around, always speaking for "justice" regardless of the camp
