Doctors Friday called off their 11 day strike, but said they would review the strike’s outcome in an annual congress in two weeks’ time after government failed to meet most of their demands.

Union officials and Cabinet Secretaries for Devolution Ann Waiguru and her Health counterpart James Macharia, made the announcement at 11pm in the night following lengthy discussions to end the stalemate.

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union Secretary General Sultani Matendechero predicted a fall out within the unions after most of their demands were not met.

Looks like this rose has more thorns than flowers. The tone of the narrative points to a demoralized human resource.

STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS:

Ladies and gentlemen, gallant warriors of our union. It is yet another time that we beg for leadership. This is a union with structures and a constitution and in the event of a vacuum of leadership we have people to take care of that.

As we are all aware, rumours are spreading all over and I don't think it should take more than 8hours for the Sec Gen to come forth and direct his soldiers.

Due to the vacuum created by this lack of leadership I propose we move forward as follows:

1. Dr. Abi Mwachi who is the deputy secretary general to take over the position of Ag. Sec Gen and call for an urgent SDC

2. Dr.Matendechero Sultani Matendechero to honourably step down and disown any agreement signed with the government.

3. The strike is still ON until the MEMBERS agree in consensus to call it off.

4. This is our union and it is the only thing we have.

Sultani is such a hardworking and dedicated fellow, I wonder why they are still disgruntled.
Not suprising though,It's all politics.

Its quite unfortunateif they can not even speak as one at this crucial moment. Govt will just see an opportunity n strike it when hot with a divide n rule hammer. Maybe they are suspect matende ha been given some tea to shut up.
