Aljazeera's reporting of the issue
I wonder if they qualify as non mainstream mediad'oh!

It is part of the mainstream media. It is Uncle Sam's propaganda machine focused on Middle East.

So according to you which media house do we listen to, of course other tha those headquartered in Moscow.

A little consistency in your ideological narrative wouldnt hurt, hoping that is not to ask for too much.

Saudi Arabia and most others in middle East dont see eye to eye with Al jazeera.

Trumps erratic behaviour not withstanding, is there a chance that world powers would fight (confront one another) because of Syria!

Are the stakes high enough!

This applies to both sides, - weighing the pros and cons.

My reason is...

Rüssïä is Christian, sincerely Christian, not part-time Christian like kina @mukiri. Rüssïä considers Syrïä to be at the heart of Orthodox world. This is the last remaining part of earth which they must save and salvage. If Rüssïä did not intervene in Syrïä militarily then Syrïä would have already become another Libya.

There are so many jackasses in the world who would celebrate if Syrïä would become another Libya.

So, anyway, the reason why Rüssïä are in Syria is to save Syrïä from being another Libya. If Syrïä were to become another Libya there are large Christian community in Syrïä. And these Christians are some of them are Western Christians, but some of them are Orthodox. But this blood thirty Uncle Sam wedging their war would have slaughtered every Christian in Syria if they had succeeded.

We thank Allah that Rüssïä intervened.

But of course, the propaganda warriors in Wazua do not believe, kina @nandwa and @ngalaka believe otherwise, and they are voting for UN security council to go in...

So I think this is gonna be a tough stand off. Rüssïä is not afraid for war. You cannot kill the truth.

It's investigative unit is one of the best in the world, programmes like witness, 101 East are top notch.

Now the issue is Qatar has been secretly supporting organizations like Muslim brotherhood in Egypt , MB is a terrorist organization, there are allegations that it support ISIS through Al-nusra front.

That and many other allegations informed the decision

True that but i think this has been used as a first line excuse. I think the real issue here is the warm relations Qatar has with Iran. The other Gulf states do not want to be lorded over by Iran and i think this crisis is meant to check that.

But if we look a bit further down the road, it’s not difficult to see what really worries the Saudis. Qatar also maintains quiet links with the Assad regime. It helped secure the release of Syrian Christian nuns in Jabhat al-Nusrah hands and has helped release Lebanese soldiers from Isis hands in western Syria. When the nuns emerged from captivity, they thanked both Bashar al-Assad and Qatar. <end of quote>

You can listen to any news channel you want. But separate the chaff from the grain ma fren. Don't just swallow everything you hear, because sometimes you're being programmed, just because it was on CNN doesn't mean it is always true, seeing it on Fox doesn't mean it is always real. Seeing it on al-Jazeera doesn't mean 100% correct... it being on Al-Jazeera and about Arabia doesn't mean it is true... when you hear Olenku say, it doesn't mean it is true

To Russia Syria is simply a client state whose value to them is hardly more than ornamental, read ego boosting.

Egypt used to be in similar position until they realised they were backing the wrong Horse. They change course and have since moved on.

Syria is in that situation largely because of Assad's political survival calculations for himself regardless of what is in the best interest of Syrian people.

As a result of the mess there, many Syrians are lining up to emigrate to Europe and US.

That may well be so. But how does the US expect to get away with cooking the evidence, as Russia is claiming? Especially if we recall that Iraq was yet another false flag adventure that went disastrously wrong.

I think the americans got carried away by their success in germany, japan and s.korea, they just went bombed them then rebuilt their countries in the way they wanted, but they forgot everyone is not a german, that you defeat in war and expect them to lie down and take anything given.

some people are just hard headed, they would rather do away with that beautiful rebuild, and I think that was the case in vietnam, afghanistan, iraq and to some extent syria
