C & P from a comment on youtube.

It is the USA supplying the weapons. Remember, it was the USA who installed the Taliban in power in Afghanistan and overthrew the Soviets, it was the Irish Americans who armed the IRA, it was the USA who overthrew the Shah of Iran.

God help us all now. Gadaffi may be dead at the hands of terrorists but the war has only just begun, yesterday it was announced that Sharia law was being imposed in Libya.

Few people realise that the Iranian Revolution happened with the full backing of the American Government with the Ayotollah installed as their puppet.

Islamic fundamentalism can be laid firmly at the door of America.

"Freedom Fighters".

American says they are the upholders of peace and democracy, but as Afghanistan has proved with Bin Laden it is the innocents who pay the blood price for America being the policeman of the world.

People may cheer that Gadaffi is dead, but i fear for the future of Libya. Only yesterday i was alarmed to see the interim leader on the news announce that Sharia law was to be implemented.

If you look to Iran you can see the possible future for Libya.

Gadaffi is responsible for many thousands of death, not just of Libyans but people who were murdered by weapons he supplied to the IRA and the Shining Path movement.

However, America is not squeaky clean either, many Irish American Citizens were also funding the IRA and let us also remember it was the USA who put the Taliban in power in Afghanistan by backing the Afghan War against the Soviet Union leading to the collapse of Afghanistan. Back then, in Washington the Taliban were called

For those who are Christians, you will remember that in the old testament, God was the unseen leader of the Israelites during the days of Prophet Samuel. A time came and the Israelites demanded a leader they could see and who would lead them to war etc etc.
Even God who is perfect was rejected by humans so what about an earthly leader?

Also times change, some wazuans will have lived at a time when all what came from a dad's mouth was law to his family n it was never questioned. Like one guy put it, when he got an itch near his father he would have a problem scratching coz his dad would demand to know what he was doing! Today democracy has generally taken over our families and even Fathers need to earn the respect offcourse having in mind God given responsibilities.

If we compare Gaddafi & Nelson Mandela, After being in Jail for 27 years Mandela got presidency and ruled for only four years. Today Madiba is an international celebrity. He did not feel himself better than all South Africans or as having a right to rule for life etc.

Also a one columnist put it, the main duty of a leader is to protect his people and if he turns against them then he has lost legitimacy. A father of a family does not turn children against each other just because they have asked for change. N it will be remembered how Gaddafi called his people Rats and cockroaches asking those loyal to clean up Libya.

There are certainly several angles of looking at it and many players who had selfish interests but we are all aware change is inevitable. The only thing that doesn't change is change itself.

No worries people ,We can still pursue the African dream and make the remaining heros Kina EL -Bashir, Robert Mugabe or Museveni the President of Africa.Nothing is much lost.
Furthermore Sudan is making own military planes so we wont need the imperialist.

I remember Mugabe was touting to host his fellow hero Gaddafi when things started becoming thick in February.

Gaddaffi's will

Translated from Arabic by the BBC

"This is my will. I, Muammar bin Mohammad bin Abdussalam bi Humayd bin Abu Manyar bin Humayd bin Nayil al Fuhsi Gaddafi, do swear that there is no other God but Allah and that Mohammad is God's Prophet, peace be upon him. I pledge that I will die as Muslim.

Should I be killed, I would like to be buried, according to Muslim rituals, in the clothes I was wearing at the time of my death and my body unwashed, in the cemetery of Sirte, next to my family and relatives.

I would like that my family, especially women and children, be treated well after my death. The Libyan people should protect its identity, achievements, history and the honorable image of its ancestors and heroes. The Libyan people should not relinquish the sacrifices of the free and best people.

I call on my supporters to continue the resistance, and fight any foreign aggressor against Libya, today, tomorrow and always.

Let the free people of the world know that we could have bargained over and sold out our cause in return for a personal secure and stable life. We received many offers to this effect but we chose to be at the vanguard of the confrontation as a badge of duty and honor.

Even if we do not win immediately, we will give a lesson to future generations that choosing to protect the nation is an honor and selling it out is the greatest betrayal that history will remember forever despite the attempts of the others to tell you otherwise."

I am reading more about Gaddafi and am convinced he was crazy. He even declared a national holiday when Anwar Sadat died not to mourn, but celebrate his enemy's death.

I am not defending him and let not my free thinking criticism of the west be construed as defence of all things non-west but if I want to get rally nasty I will ask, hasn't the other side done greater and worse than these? Just to jog our memories, were they not the ones who infected people with gonorrhea and syphilis in Guatemala?

This discussion is on whether Ghaddafi deserved it or not.. and from what you're saying above, then he did... period. If you're attacked by thugs and the thugs are killed via mob justice conducted by a group of no-good layabouts, does it mean then that the thug is a hero...

I promise you that if the Guatemalans carry out a "Ghaddafi" on Sarkozy for what his people did, I will celebrate with them just as I celebrate with the Libyans today... Still doesn't make Ghaddafi anymore than a sewer rat.

I think it was a case of Maslow's hierachy of needs. They had an affluent life but they want the right to insult the head of state like we do here in Kenya.

So for us we started Maslow's pyramid from the top.

@Mozenrat

Please don't talk bad about our HERO. By the way, who is your HERO?
