Kenya Airways from 29OCT18 is adding service to Libreville, as the airline extends Nairobi – Yaounde route to Libreville. Embraer E190 aircraft operates this route 5 times a week (selected dates by 737-800).

Why couldn't Naikuni do the same? Or was he and Mbugua so focused on eating rather than a gradual expansion?

Rapid expansion fueled by debt usually gets firms in trouble when there is a hiccup.
Look at KQ, Uchumi and ARM. Even KK with its aggressive debt-fueled expansion.
Slow but sure usually works better when debt is involved.
