That was my hope. With Trump at least there exists a shot, a possibility, a chance at not having war. With Hillary, war was assured - she has vast experience in it.

Trump on the other hand told them what they wanted to hear. Trump promised to bring back the BIG 3 (Chrysler, Ford and GM) back to the Midwestern states. Ever since the auto industry collapsed in these States, these people have had to endure so much heartache. They had to walk out of their homes and watch their houses go into foreclosures, lose their sons and daughters to gun crime and drugs because of the poverty that was created, move to other States where they were not welcome and didn't have the neccessary skills to fit into the job markets there (most of these people had been in the auto industry their whole lives). I know so many people from Detroit who are bitter at how their lives took a downward spiral after the BIG 3 left.
Point is, these people don't really care how many women's genitals Trump has grabbed, they don't care if he refused to reveal his tax returns, they just want their jobs back so that they can go back to their homes and raise their families in a dignified manner.
When a person is desperate, they really don't care about politics, they just want to be given an opportunity to be productive. Trump promised them that. Hillary didn't. That was the difference. Nothing else mattered really. Not immigration, or even national security, the promise to bring back the BIG three and all the factories in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and West Pennsylvania won the day. If you look clearly, all the other States voted exactly like they were projected to vote, the only surprises were those four states which have traditionally been part of the Blue wall.
In other words, Hillary forgot to fix her house first before going to meddle in Syria and Libya and promising Illegal aliens path to citizenship and other goodies while her own citizens are wallowing in despair because their jobs were taken away. I believe Trump will make the Midwest great again. In three years, the BIG three and all it's affiliates will be back. People's livelihoods will always trump politics. Pun intended. excellent elaboration... he knew where to press. You see, rural jobs used to be based around one big local business -- a factory, a coal mine, etc. When the business dies, the town dies.. The new business and jobs were occurring elsewhere. the big 3 left and everyone suffered. Hillary did not have her finger on the pulse of the these regions. For them this was bread and butter issue. 60% of the voters disapprove of trump but they voted for him why? he had an answer for them...an answer for their issues at home. But Masukuma, Obama and the democrats had his finger on the pulse just 8 years ago and so I think it a stretch to imagine that Hillary and the democrats did not have their fingers on the pulse 8 years later. Unless they failed to deliver .... I agree with Hamburglar. She thought it was a done deal and chose to talk about Putin, nuclear codes, Syria and so on even genitals.

hamburglar wrote:Voters just flat out rejected Hillary. This election has been more or less a landslide victory for the Donald. Even Colorado would have been Red had it not been for all the pot head liberals who have recently moved there from California in large numbers and made it lean Democrat. Even a New England State (Maine) has given Trump one electoral vote, something that's never been seen since Reagan. Democrats should go back to the drawing board and rethink their strategy. Fronting Hillary and playing politics with the Midwesterners livelihoods was a very bad idea. True that!

Yes... but you need to look at what had happened then. the credit crisis, the housing crisis. There was no way a republican president would have come in. Plus Obama was almost like Trump then... HOPE! a noob! Republicans could only try and attack his character , accusing him of non bread and butter issues (alizaliwa wapi? Ni Muslim/Arab)... I see a parallel. All Mushrooms are edible! We might not have prezzo trump after all. I hope and pray that God will see him through till he is sworn in. Obama and his ilk better not have something nasty up their sleeves. I don't sweat petty things or pet sweaty things. [/b]

That then democrats thought Hillary rather than Bernie could carry the day then is just incredible and unfathomable. And then you say she got good number of votes but in the wrong places ..... what could she get right? Our welfare?

I am saying she has the POPULAR VOTE (58,879,687) compared to TRUMP's (58,855,128) but these extra votes are 'votes in the wrong places' hawawezi msaidia... wamejazana West Coast!
