The PH perspective in our diet is now absolutely the main issue because many diseases stem from deficiency or food related toxicity. It is as if medicine is geared towards profitability of allowing illness to occur and then providing drugs to reduce symptoms. It is to reevaluate and establish correct nutrition, acid-slkaline balance and other life style changes and bring it to our consciousness to reduce the scourge especially in sub Saharan Africa. Some degenerative diseases that were unheard of are now in our doosteps . The most worrisome is that these terminal diseases are now wrecking havoc on young people in 30" s , 20" s and even at a younger age. 10 to 20 years ago, such events were strange. Lifestyle and diet is a major contributor . The wazua spirit as members is to educate and inform and learn from others within the limit of what we know in any chosen area irrespective of our differences in tribes, nationalities, etc. .

I have been opportuned to see and understand the trend of terminal diseases in my native country Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. I have visited Lagos Luth, Ghana Korle By hospital and Nairobi KNH. The trend is the same. I saw young children / people below 40 who are already kidney and cancer patients undergoing dialysis and chemotherapy respectively . KNH Nairobi for example have only 7 chemotherapy machines and on my visit in May 2018, there were not less than 1,000 frail looking people including children waiting for their turns. In LUTH I saw a 16 year old boy queing for kidney dialysis. In Korle Bu Accra I saw a 21 year old undergraduate suffering from Leukemia (blood cancer) waiting for chemotherapy. The truth is that of the top three killers ie cancer, heart disease and diabetics, ALL are directly linked to DIET AND LIFESTYLE. These degenerative diseases when it becomes full blown is always associated with misery and poor quality of life that always precedes death sometimes by decades . If you take a look around , you will see most people with our modern lifestyles are suffering from food imbalance. They are obese. Tired.Premature aging. Perhaps you too. Chances are at least one person you love is suffering from the top 3 killers Cancer, heart disease (hypertension) or diabetes. Well there is a general belief you have to die of something someday. But I belief it is your right to live healthy and die healthy . Making that vision a reality is everyone's wish but you have to work towards it and start early . Of all the balances the human body strives to maintain, the most crucial is the the one between acid and base (alkaline). The body will go to great lengths to maintain the appropriate slightly basic nature of the blood. But it is all too easy and far too common for body tissues to become acidic. It has been scientifically proven that it takes about 20 times as much base to neutralize amount of acid, so it is better to maintain than to regain balance . People should be aware that constant acidity of the blood is detrimental to their bone health on the long term. To maintain PH balance in the blood , when the blood is consistently acidic, the body leaches or depletes calcium from the bones to maintain balance. It is therefore not a surprise that these days there are higher incidence of bone related ailment due to acidity in our system . NO TO SUPPLEMENTS WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS
There are various tablets in the form of supplements to take care of our diet deficiencies . These includes vitamins A, B, C, D and even K. It extends to selenium, calcium, magnesium, Omega 3, fish oil, multivitamins etc. While some are potent the risk factor is that they are inorganic and have some additives which tasks our vital organs while processing and assimilating them. Our kidneys, liver and lungs are negatively impacted . My advise is since those nutrients can be got from our foods, fruit and vegetable it is more healthy to derive them from those sources . For example high milligram of selenium a powerful anti oxidant can be derived from nuts like Brazilian nuts, almond nuts, macademia or cashew nuts. You need a few quantity as a daily intake but you have to be consistent in taking them . Weed grass juice that is very abundant in kenya is very good source of iron / folic acid and it is extremely potent. Cancer scourge has become very prevalent these days . Government effort has been to encourage people to carry out test for early detecion. The fact is early detection of cancer cell is already a big incident. It means there is 30 to 40% cancer cells in your system . This is only fair, the best attempt is on prevention vis-a-vis life style changes .
