Faiba 4G....Newest Safaricom competitor

Safaricom would be forced to innovate further. However as it is, Faiba will focus on some major towns and with that fall to same fate that befell Kencell. Good product hindered by poor coverage which leads to low revenue which is inconsistent. Eventually, they need to roll out countrywide but for now do they need to? If their focus is on selling data, isn’t 80% covered by the major towns? 80% of your profits come from 20% of your customers... [This might not hold for all sectors but isn’t heavy data consumption primarily, for now, in Urban areas] Airtel has tried that strategy and its not working for them Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation

Going by ealier posts Faiba has the 28-700mhz frequecy meaning they will need few base stations to cover the same area as the rest, furthermore with the CA and arap mashamba support, they can tap into the universal access fund the CA has been holding to cover the areas Telcos see as non viable. They also don't seem to be aggressively advertising since they know their target customers and so far I can say the people getting faiba mifis is really high. The cheapest bundle is 50 bob, and loading bundles is not exactly easy plus at the moment only Nokia phones are compatible, the cheapest is 11k, the mifi is 5,400, going by this few kenyans have the capacity to utelize the cheapest 1GB for one day let alone 8GB in a week. This product is for data heavy users. To Each His Own

For instance a person traveling from Nairobi to Nyanza has consistent 3g coverage. This is not the case with the other providers Remember the same people who currently reside in urban areas also travel across centers. Having to switch providers let's say outside of Nairobi so as to get connectivity may not be attractive to many

Faiba 4G i see on tv they are advertising more of fiber not LTE Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation

Reliance Jo have defaulted on loans they took @Ericsson, it's not Reliance Jio that defaulted on its loans but Reliance Communications. Apparently Jio is owned by the older Ambani (brother) whereas RCom is/was for the younger Ambani
