The Theater now turns to Parliament.

What powers does Parliament weld in as far as the list is concerned?

For example, can Parliament demand that the two nominees herein above change places or is it simply approval or rejection as it were?

There will be no politicians in the cabinet: this is contradicted and this time you are not given a chance to answer questions, there can only be one centre of power....lol!!!!

They will NO LONGER be politicians. That's what UK clarified.

LOOOOOL

You think those two can keep their mouths shut for any period of time?

What a screw-up. I bet next two ministries will be even worse, hence the further delay.

Well, at least we had a few days of false hope.

I kinda agree. The two need to understand the power of scarcity value and speaking minimally a la Kibaki, otherwise they'll find themselves with egg on their faces on many occasions

My hunch is this team can deliver, its a good start. Good composition, somehow Ngilu and Balala had to be there. Being politicians they must also appeal to their largest voting blocks. Real professionals have one tribe - Kenyan.

A few dissappointments, I must say; but I have come to expect it when it comes to things to do with politics. Except for a couple of choices the nominees look like they have the skills and expertise for the job. I have some issues with ethnic balance especially the preponderance of the Kyuks,Kales and Somalis, but I can't say I expected much better. All in all, I would give the choices a B if I was doing the grading. They are good enough!

You are right. In retrospect it would have been a disaster politically to exclude Ngilu and Balala. From initial grapevine, word was that half would be ex politicians and half non-politicians, so at least the larger share has gone to technocrats. In my opinion, the most deserving is Engineer Kamau, a known performer in the former Ministry of Roads

Shak I fully support your sentiments.

Ngilu and Balala were part of the 4 pillars in Jubilee and they fought hard despite being in a competitor strongholds.Effort deserves reward especially in politics. In addition, choices were limited in this two areas.Eastern and Coast are almost to a man in the competitor party.

Just wondering what Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is thinking?

This is the way to go,we are developing to a first world.
Make political alliances and know the consequences.
Next elections we will have only two strong political groupings, and that will be the FACE OF KENYA.
NO REWARDS FOR MAKING THE WRONG CHOICE DUE TO BLIND FOLLOWING OF SELF SERVING TRIBAL LEADERS!
