So do animals and trees and some machines have language? It is a proven fact they communicate.

There are many types of languages.Body language,sign language,words...these are different types languages which are used to communicate. Animals have their languages.Trees I doubt.Machines,especially computers have propagated the most ubiquitous language man has ever seen,binary.

To do something you have to be something.Doing is something a 'being' does. Basically to do something you have to be something,which in this case I call being otherwise if you are nothing you can't do anything.Now I don't know if a tree is a 'being'.

So I suggest we would be better of discussing psychology rather than philosophy.

This one I have to intrude.Psychology is the philosophy of mind and self. If you are talking about user names,I like that too.I have also been thinking on what user names say about the users.

The only state that is in relative rest is in the future. The motion that is yet to be effected.

When I was away, it seems the debate moved from philosophy to celestial mechanics.

Motion implies space and time.

Are you trying to tell us that space and time are real?

So man made machines have language but trees, the complex entities they are, do not? How human!

So who decides if an entity is a being or not? The one being or the one perceiving?

How can you speak of mind and self before you define them?

What animals are these that you are introducing to the debate?

You can't perceive if you are not a being. Who decides,ultimately the creator if you believe in one. But me a being is conscious life.What do you think?

Exactly.And thats what psychology is trying to decipher.Who is the self and what exactly is the mind. Like I quoted earlier,you can doubt everything in this world but you can't doubt your 'self'.You are you.You are alive or experiencing life.

To perceive, two beings have to communicate, I assume (could be wrong).

So trees are beings then.

But this raises another question.

There are many entities we do not really understand? Does that mean they are not 'beings?'

I was born on the slopes of a mountain and for many years I could swear the mountain called to me - still does. I know people who swear the sea, their country etc calls to them.

Are all these 'beings?'
