Who do you think the slum dwellers/poor would hire?

Your mistake is failing to understand that it is ONLY kyuk TNA masufferers, slum dwellers, e.t.c who identify with waititu. Just talk to slum dwellers in Kibera, maringo, mathare, 56, congo and most other non-kyuk dwellers and you will understand this slum dweller thing is not waititu's monopoly, he is far behind Kidero in the slums and middle and overclass. Someone here told you they have been to the slums with Kidero and he has a very solid broad based support in the slums. They love him!

Kidero: I was born in Nairobi, went to UoN, i was in South Africa...

Waititu: Today in the morning at 10am I was in Kayole....
When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend

Emotions aside........

We are seeking to employ a CEO for nairobi what qualifications should you consider. think of Nairobi as a blue chip company worth billions.

Make it personal: Imagine yourself in the board of Safcom, EABL and you are hiring a CEO.

I can do with arrogance but not ignorance............ my 2 cents

On the other hand what are the 5 most important issues that Nairobians would want addressed by their county govt?

1. water
2. security
3. garbage
4. sewerage
5. roads/potholes kwa estates/drainage

These are the burning issues affecting Nairobians from Karen to buru buru to kibera. And thats what yt2 talked about. Generally Nairobians have similar problems despite where they live.

By talk do you mean giving convincing specifics on how he would handle them or merely saying that he would? Missed the interview so would be interesting to know about his ideas on handling these issues and how practical they are.

You can watch it here though it seems you will wait. Their website is under maintenance.

Yenyewe it's true uskenyans have very short memories.

We are the ones who keep on saying that we need a different crop of leaders, yet we want to vote Waititu back in. Wasn't he among these people who keep on voting for their salaries to be increased et al?

Yet now we want to give him the job because of one interview. I think it's time to try different people. As we say: Folly is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I will try something new.

3 or 4 wazuans defending the boardroom thug using multiple posts changes nothing about yesterday. Ati waititu made kidero perform poorly puuuuuh! Gosh! That Guy had all the time to redeem himself, he failed flat. Ati investors? Then what will be the role of the central govt? County govts were rooted on the need to devolve resources to the marginalized pple n areas. Waititu, by some luck, is in congruence with this basic fact. Kidero talks as if he is going to be the president of the republic.

@simonkabz, My fellow Pk supporter, on this one you've slipped.
The county gov'ts and their management will determine the level and nature of investments that will come their way. Get sometime to acquaint yourself with devolved gov'ts elsewhere. Each county will/should brand itself in a way to attract investors who will unlock its potential.
Turkana will go oil, not sing about tea farming.
The highlands counties will go agricultural.
The coastal will go hospitality, fishing and shipping.
Each county will package itself to attract investors.
Those that will package them well and establish the requisite infrastructure and social amenities, will have more investments than the ones failing to package or have the fabric.

On to matters YT2 and Kidero,YT2 understands the problems of Nairobi,so do i and millions of Nairobi,Kidero included.
Insecurity,poor roads,non-existent drainage,water,poor social amenities,unemployment,land grabbing,garbage collection. etc etc etc etc.
We also know what needs to be done.
Improve security, build and maintain roads, build drainage systems, provide water, improve our social amenities, create jobs, stop land grabbing etc etc etc etc.

It gets tricky when we get to the HOW.

That's where and when shit hits the fan.

YT2 believes using all means to stop land grabbing,he's used his CDF fairly well.
He's a people's hero. A champion for the downtrodden. He's a PROTECTOR.A fish-giver.
In the mold of governor, Nairobi will need more than a protector, more than a fish-giver.
Nairobi needs an enabler,a leader who will enable things to move forward.Things can only move where you plan them to. You need a road map.

Both guys talked about water, insecurity, education etc. It was on the HOW where the difference came in.
One sees not far beyond basics. The other sees the basic and further, hence the mention of Singapore.

For one to address the myriad of problems afflicting Nairobians, he will have to address the basic as well other all the other issues that will move the city forward,as well as avoid a repeat of the same failings.
In Kidero and his arrogance, their is a chance of a well oiled plan. That knowledge can only come from someone who knows the figures and what more to be added.

YT2 tends concentrate more on land grabbing beyond which he doesn't seem to have a grasp of HOW to move forward.
Kidero will be in a position to negotiate for better plans than YT2 would.
With YT2's caring for the poor, his policies will doom them to that life. He will just keep them there with his plan of giving fish rather than teaching how to fish.
With a robust Nairobi economy, the county gov't will have enough means to harness resources,to sort the mess around us. In the process, the populace will make better earnings.

YT2 is like a mother who sympathizes with a sick baby refusing to take medicine and because of the cries, stops adminstering the full dose.
Kidero is like a mother who regardless of the cries, makes sure the baby takes the dose.

In war, there is collateral damage. In moving a Nairobi city forward, there will be collateral damage.Invading public land and road reserves, building shanties then shouting "squatters" and staying put can't be the way to go.
Who will YT2 give the title deeds to? The landlords in the slums? The tenants?
Public land should not be given to any individual,be they poor or rich, without due process.

Nairobi needs someone who will enable us all to fish.
YT2 sounds like someone who wants to give fish and protect.
Sonko if elected senator, he will protect. Kidero will enable us to fish. That would be a good thing.
Checks and balances are a must if we are ever to move forward.

Knowledge albeit laced with arrogance will bring a better Nairobi.
Ignorance and connecting with mwananchi will only massage egos.
When was the last time anyone ate ego or paid school using ego?
Lolest!

@mapozi, people seem to have given up on the idea of new blood with PK n Kiyiapi losing support by the day and Raihuru or Kenyadinga gaining popularity.

When Waititu misquotes the constitution, or defines the wrong roles for Governor, then Kidero corrects him, how is that arrogance?

......some people were never going to vote for Kidero in any way, they feared Wanjiru and supported Kidero on, now they must invent reasons to support the clueless stone thrower!!!!

Yt2 said he could do something to improve education and Kidero over reacted. You want to tell me there is nothing a governor can do to improve quality of education.

So your Nairobi governor will create form 1A to D to improve education? This must be the most stupid and sickening joke of this year.
