@ Prov-B He should just resign, he had wrong advise on approach to retrenching staff and his lawyers refused to freeze when questioned by putting all their faith in the law court, hoping the court will look at the whole issue from a commercial rather than a legal angle.

...@Jamani i beg to differ TN was told by his lawyers that he was approaching the retrenchment matter wrongly as usual he arrogantly brushed them aside he is too blame 110% for the ongings the buck stops with him...he should just save face resign and they get on board someone new who should make cost cutting his or her first agenda thats the only way this company can survive...kwanza top management should take a pay cut for a while they earn too much and when the airline goes under they wont be affected as much they have enough for rainy days...

Thanks for putting the record straight, we agree management brought all this to the shareholders...... and as you put it, it is TN himself who took the decision by brushing off legal advise, so he ought to do the honorable thing

...if TN goes now...he won't go cheap...his replacement..is not a volunteer either...but his replacement will HAVE to do what TN tried to do... that is...halve wage bill.. which is impossible with current staff... unless you send em home...and get new staff at new..very low wage rates...which is usually thro..outsourcing..

KQ employee woes catalyzed by unions. tough times ahead... no, TOUGHER times.. Especially for TN's replacement

Reminds me of the circus during the GFC debacle as bank seniors continued to earn high perks and abnormal bonuses while the firms they work for were going bust or being bailed out!

Add to that a dull political outcome, the current security threats & the recessing euroland, the revenues stand to take a sizable cut. Bailout could come sooner than expected. God forbid, if they were to lose a plane to a crash...

Precisely!! I don't get how he just gives in to being forced to cooperate with a crippling requirement!!

No offence.. i feel for the employees...but atleast they were given an opportunity to disembark a crushing plane with some parachute...now they'd rather weigh it down and crush with it??

I was astonished being invited for thanx giving prayers for some reinstated employees..the miracle God had done...guys assume God is as financially illiterate as they are?? CraP!!

buying kq was the worst investment mistake i did, selling at a huge loss was the best decision i made. i fear for current kq shareholders, this giant is sputtering to a halt

Investors protest KQ ruling in workers row - http://bit.ly/SAhpv9

Investors vs Employees, Management vs Employees - This class action lawsuit has set the cat upon the pigeons. It has a long way to unravel and it can spin off into something that would mess the labour market dynamics if not handled well. The ministry of labour is mum for now. But should the unravelling spike, that ministry will be in hot soup...

Its time investors stood up to dictate otherwise the red flag is up.

Foreign investors must have taken note of the ruling and downgraded Kenya in their list. It was socialist.

That notwithstanding, the KQ management had handled the matter with some high handedness and tactlessly.

Naikuni must go, as a statement of a new KQ. Is it only me who's seeing this?
