I have 100k to put into stocks for 6 months. I do not want to lose the capital, i would prefer to start harvesting my investment 3 months after initial investment. Any ideas?

@vvs thanks for the reminder that there is no assured return in stocks. @the deal i am looking for a counter that can give me a return of 20% including commissions (15% net of commissions)

@sparkly - I have seen your other comments... and you are a smart guy/gal... but your expectations for 6 months are high...

For 12-18 months timeframe, I like KPLC...

you dont want to loose your capital,in the nse returns are not guranteed remember political sentiments can be easily factored into a fundamentaly strong counter hence capital loss.i suggest you shouldnt invest money you are so attached to.

Sparkly, 20% in 6 months timeframe reminds me of 2006. i have reviewed my portfolio from investment in November to date here are my best stocks for six months
Mumias 34% paper gain
Kengen 28% realised
NIC 16% paper gain
KPLC 10% paper gain
Going forward i like in order of merit KPLC, kengen, KCB, mumias

@sparkly
A month ago I'd have told you sameer but that ship I believe has sailed. I bought sameer on Jan 29th at 5.65 and placed a sell at 8.50 (50%) and I'm sure they'll be picked today.

Now if I'm you I'd put the 100k in Safaricom. After selling sameer I'm putting it all in Safaricom.

By the way is the tea market up? What's happening there - WTK, KAP, Sasini, Kakuzi?

BBI will solve it
:)
